Clark walked into Bruce's mansion and headed for the room where Katherine lay. Everyday after work he would go straight to that room, everyday the same thing. But he was not giving up on her, he could wait.
"Still nothing?" Bruce asked Clark looked up and shook his head.
"Its strange, she looks like sleeping beauty. But even now my kiss does not wake her."
"She will wake."
"Bruce she has been in this same place for the last six months, I have kept council meetings and made sure that the clans that remain stay out of trouble. But whatever she did in that castle, killed over half their population. And they are now afraid that when their queen wakes she will take vengeance on them for all that has happened."
"She can't blame them here. No one knew."
"I know."
"Come on Alfred has dinner waiting. She is safe here, Diana came today to check on her. She's is actually here waiting. Come on."
"Alright. I'll be back." Clark said kissing her lightly before leaving the room. Katherine lay in the center of the large oak four post bed. Her long hair surrounding her face like a halo, she wore a simple white nightgown.
Clark pulled the door closed, and listened to the odd hiss it made when he closed it.
"Its the only temperature controlled room in the house, well in this part. I felt she was safer in there. Plus with climate control we can keep track of the temperature so she won't heat or freeze."
"I guess so." Clark followed behind Bruce. They walked into the dining room area and were greeted by Diana, Arthur, Victor, and Barry.
"How is she today?" Barry asked looking at him.
"No change. Well her skin stopped glowing." Clark told them, he sat down and sighed. Everyone looked at him and knew that he had tried to not get emotionally involved with Katherine, he knew it would be his undoing, but something about her cried out for her to be loved to be shown love. Katherine seemed to crave Clark's attention and touch, his words calmed her. He wondered if he would hear her voice again. Barry looked at the others and toward the hallway. He walked away from group to the room where Katherine lay, he touched the knob and turned it and walked inside. He stopped suddenly with the sight of someone standing over Katherine.
"Who are you?" Barry asked, he walked further into the room.
"Now boy, stay quiet and you will live."
Barry looked at Katherine and the man above her, moving quickly he moved to her only to collapse to the floor unconscious.
"What do you want done?"
"Bring the boy, we won't be gone long."
"What are we doing."
"I believe that she gave up part of who she is."
"What part?"
"Come we will go before they notice her gone."
"I wouldn't recommend it, step away from them both."
"We never meant either of them any harm. The boy startled us, but he is unharmed."
"You're not leaving with her."
"We need to know why she remains in her sleep."
"Your king has told you he is caring for her."
"Something about her has changed."
"When she wakes we will bring her to you. Until then leave."
"She is our queen."
"Yes, and she is his world. Go."
"Yes your majesty." They said bowing to her. Diana shook her head as they left the way they came.
"Barry, come wake up." Diana said touching his arm. Barry's eyes snapped open and he looked at her.
"What happened? Is she?"
"She's still here. You alright?"
"Yeah, I just came up to see how she was."
"I have a headache."
Diana turned and looked toward the bed to see Katherine looking at them.
"Barry go get Clark now."
"Yup."
Diana pulled a chair up and sat down.
"Your people were here."
"I sensed them. But they are no longer my people."
"What do you mean?"
"Katherine." Clark said walking into the room.
"Hey, You're safe."
"I have been for six months."
"Where are we?"
"Bruce's. Where I left you after we got back. Bruce had you in a special room."
"That explains how it feels in here." Katherine said, she sat up better and swung her legs over the edge of the bed.
"Where are you going?"
"Well I have slept for six months, I'm hungry."
"I'll get you some blood bags." Bruce said stepping from the room. Diana looked closer at her, and reached out and touched her skin.
"Tell him she doesn't need it. See if Alfred could send in a sandwich."
"Why?" Clark asked looking at Katherine closer, her skin wasn't pale but was pink and her eyes were clear and their normal color. Bruce stepped back into the room with a plate and a glass and handed them to Clark. Katherine looked at the sandwich and picked it up and took a bite.
"I haven't had turkey in centuries."
"Can you eat normal food?" Barry asked her.
"Not normally, it has no taste to me. But as I said before I passed out none shall be made by my blood."
"You're not a vampire anymore."
"Exactly. I am immortal but no longer like those that follow me."
"What are you going to do?"
"I will have to address them and give them a choice to choose a new elder to lead them. "
"Katherine, there is no one else. They already fear your wrath after what happened six months ago."
"I will address them tomorrow."
"Good because I don't want to share you just yet."
"You already are."
"Yes but I don't mind." Clark said to her.
"Good now help me up." Katherine said holding her hand out, Clark helped her to her feet and walked with her until he knew she was steady. Katherine smiled and walked forward and touched the door.
"There are to many of us in here. Let's go." Katherine said leading them from the room.
"Good to see you awake Miss Katherine."
"Thank you Alfred."
"Might I suggest Mr. Kent or Miss Prince find you something a little darker to wear."
"What?" Bruce actually turned and looked at her.
"That wouldn't be a bad idea. Clark."
Clark turned and then he noticed the white gown she wore was alot more revealing than he expected.
"We will be right back." Clark said leading her into the bedroom again.
"Give me a moment." She said with a smile, she raised her hand up and then down the front of what she was wearing and it changed color.
"Is that better?" Katherine asked.
"Yes it is. And blue suits you." He said to her, Katherine pulled him closer and kissed him.
"I've missed you." Clark said to her, his hand moving over her skin.
"I am real Clark, my skin is warm and color has returned to my cheeks. I seperated the vampire from the sorceress. But the vampire can not live without the sorceress and was destroyed when I cast the spell. I am as I was those centuries ago."
"I loved you either way.
"I know. Come on they will worry."
Clark smiled and took her hand and they walked back from the room
