PREVIOUSLY: "Any risk is worth it for you," Jonah smiled. Ellody's heart wanted to burst out of her chest with happiness, but she had to keep it in. He couldn't know she liked him like that.

BRRT BRRT.

BRRT BRRT.

Fluffy brown hair, white glasses and pools of melted chocolate for eyes. The most gorgeous grin spread across his whole face. Zach was calling.

Jonah frowned at the phone before looking at Ellody, waiting for her to answer it

Jonah frowned at the phone before looking at Ellody, waiting for her to answer it. It buzzed between them for a few seconds.

"Does Zach usually call you during school hours?" Jonah asked. Ellody nodded.

"It's lunch. He knows I have my phone on me at lunch."

BRRT BRRT.

Ellody wanted to pick it up. She wanted to hear his voice. She wanted to talk to him and laugh with him and curl up in his lap and sob and say I'm sorry. But Jonah was sitting right there, and she couldn't bring herself to.

Suddenly, Jonah leant forward and picked up the phone, holding it out to Ellody. "Go on," he insisted.

"Hey Zach," she spoke, her heart rate picking up.

"Hey Ellody. How's school been?"

"It's been... alright. What are you up to?"

"Not much. I just realised the time and thought I'd call you."

Silence.

Jonah raised his eyebrows, reminding Ellody that he could hear every word.

"Um, right... well... I think I can see a teacher coming, I'd better get off my phone," she lied. Her heart hurt lying to Zach, but she couldn't hold an awkward conversation with him in front of Jonah. It was far too hard having all these emotions. Why can't I just like one guy? Why do I have to like them both?

"Oh, OK. Text me when you can. We haven't talked much at all lately, I miss our conversations in the middle of the day," Zach sighed. Ellody felt terrible. She missed him too. But something was pulling her away from Zach... and towards Jonah.

"Yes, um, OK. Bye," she muttered. Zach barely said goodbye before she hung up, avoiding Jonah's concerned look and looking out the window instead.

ZACH'S POV:

"OK, bye Ell-"

BEEP BEEP.

She hung on him. Zach stared at his phone in shock. What is going on?

"Oi, Zach! Get over here!" Corbyn yelled. Zach frowned and looked over at Corbyn, who was making faces at his phone. He shook off his anger at Ellody and jogged over to Corbyn, who tilted his phone at Zach. A duck filter took over most of the screen, and the only part of Zach to see was his eyes.
