25. Littleroot Town

Just, tiny seconds away from drifting to a peaceful sleep, a voice blared inside my mind, Tyler, wake up.

I groaned, " Oh man... So close... " When I saw the person who said that, all the sleepiness left. It was Mewtwo standing right above me. I almost screamed, " WHA-"

It put the index finger on its lips, " Don't scream now. We donot want your girlfriend to wake up."

I whispered as loudly as I could, "She's no girlfriend! " I glanced at her sleeping bag and found her deep asleep, her blonde hair tied into a pony tail.

I asked, " What are you doing here? "

Mewtwo crossed its arms, "Remember the speech I gave you about your powers? "

I nodded. It continued, " Well, you will need it tomorrow more than ever. My Foresight tells me."

" Why? Is Team Black going to raid Littleroot Town and kill everybody? "

" Precisely. "

I gaped at it. Mewtwo chuckled, "The part about Team Black is correct but if you don't stop them, the latter will prove to be true soon."

I gulped, " It all happens tomorrow?"

" I hope you trained your ability well because it is about time you discover the powers within you. "

" Didn't I do that already? "

" That is hardly the surface, the crust of the earth on the journey to the centre. "

" You mean, I have loads more to do? "

Mewtwo nodded, " Did you know that aura can be physically used? Aura Spheres are one of those. "

" Wait a sec, that is what Lucario does, right? "

" Exactly. You too can do that if you train. More on that later, for now, focus on Aura Zone and your bond for the next Legendary you meet will desperately need your help. "

I just gaped at the Legendary genetic Pokemon as it walked away. How did it know that I named my powers? It turned back, " And by the way, please restrain from calling me 'it'. We Legendary Pokemon have our own identities, I am a he and Mew is a she. "

I gritted my teeth into a smile, "Next time when you read my mind, could you at least warn me, 'he'? "

It, I mean, 'he' grinned and vanished into thin air.

My mind was buzzing with thoughts before I drifted off to sleep (for the second time).

" What's the matter? " Tiyana asked while packing up, " You look like you've seen a ghost. "

I shrugged, " My instincts tell me that today is going to be a bad day. "

Her eyebrows arched but didn't say a thing. We put the necessary stuff back, recalled our Pokemon and walked for two tiring hours.

We finally reached the small town called Littleroot. This could be one of the smallest towns I have ever come across. There was a Pokemon Centre at the centre and no more than six or seven compact houses. This really was little.

The first thing that greeted us when we entered the town was a statue of  the Legendary Birds: Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos.

" Lemme guess, " Tiyana began, "This town holds these Pokemon as guardians. "

A voice from behind the statue said, " Indeed you are quite correct lass. " An old man stepped from the back. He looked as if in his seventies with bald head and long grey beard. He seriously looked like a monk or chief of this town (I'm pretty sure towns don't have chiefs) or something. Riolu perked up on hearing the voice and then calmed.
