" How did you meet Fletchling? " I asked as we went 'round the town.

" Oh yeah, I found her injured on the road. She had been kicked out of her territory for some reason. I tended to her till she was able to fly and when that happened, she refused to leave me. Cute, isn't she? "

I nodded. Deciding to keep Mew and Mewtwo a secret for a while longer, I asked, " How the heck did you get the time to write that letter? "

" The one in the mall? Luck I guess. Found some lying. I'd knew you would come to check on me so... "

Was I that predictable? Nah, that creep Floyd said that I am unpredictable. Well, it depends on the guy's definition.

Lavaridge Town lies on the foot of a dormant volcanoe, Mt. Chimney. The town was smaller than the rest of the cities I had been to, implies the name 'town'. Despite that, it was bigger than Azel. This town was particularly famous for its hot-springs and tubs which is said to have magical properties.

Tiyana wanted to check the rumours first by entering the spring. Five minutes later, I was standing before a building which gave access to the spring. We entered and parted ways. The price was kinda cheap, 200 Pokebills for two hours.

I relaxed in the hotspring on the men's side separated by a bamboo wall. Thankfully, there was no one else. I heard Tiyana's voice on the other side, " Tyler! How you doin' ? "

" Great actually. I feel all the tension ebb away. "

" Glad that I brought us here. "

" I wanted to come here way before you mentioned it. "

" No you didn't. "

" Yes, I did. "

That brought a series of arguments on who thought of the hot-spring first. Childish, I know. But that's what made it fun.

By two in the noon, after lunch, I stood before the Lavaridge Gym. The Heat Badge was calling me...I could feel it.

A step inside the red two storey building, the lights blared on at a chef. He grinned, " Before meeting Flannery, you have to fight me and another friend. This is just to spice up the final dish. "

I sighed. At least it was better than Chuck's plan to battle five.

The chef exclaimed, " Go Pansear! "

The Fire type Pokemon had appeared. Its basically a monkey with a red bun on its head. I sent Riolu to battle.

" Riolu, Feint! "

Riolu bolted in for the fake punch. Pansear took a recoil from the real one and flipped back. The chef said, " Ember! " The foe took a deep breath and puffed a small blast of fire. Riolu was caught in the distraction. The Pansear intended to use Focus Punch when the flames died down.

Riolu reeled back in the blow. "Don't give up Riolu! " I said, " Use Agility! "

Riolu rushed with a burst. Disappearing now and the then, he managed to blast Pansear with a Force Palm on its back. I said, " Go for the attack! Mega Punch! "

The muscle punch landed on Pansear's gut and it rocketed off.
The chef looked surprised but not brocken. After returning Pansear, he sent out a Panpour, the water variant of Pansear. A blue monkey.

Would it be fair if I unleash Luxio? That's one thought to avoid during a battle, " Go for it Luxio! "

The chef began sweating. Panpour is the most easy-going of the three 'Pans' as I'd call it. Despite the type, the chef said, "Panpour, Water Pulse! "
