Grotle and Croconaw roared when they materialized from their PokéBalls. Looking over, I saw Tate's face twist into worry while Liza held a neutral expression.

She asked, " Okay, ready? "

I nodded. The Gym Leaders closed their eyes and a pinkish aura surrounded them. Solrock and Lunatone held their positions, waiting for orders.

I decided to start. " Okay guys, let's do this! Grotle, Razor Leaf on Lunatone! Croconaw use Water Gun on Solrock! " (That was quite a mouthful.)

Both of them nodded and executed their orders. Inches from impact, the two opponent Pokémon glowed pink and the attacks stopped mid-air. Reversing their directions, the attacks raced for their users and hit them.

I grunted. Psychic attack... and not a word from the kids. Could they be talking telepathically? If so, I'll be having a hard time figuring out counter measures.

Going for physcial hits, I ordered, "Grotle, Takedown Lunatone while Croconaw Crunches Solrock!"

Grotle roared and crashed into Lunatone, sending it reeling back. Croconaw was successful in dealing super effective damage to Solrock with a Crunch to its spokes. A few moments later, the two Psychic types floated up and their eyes shimmered pink. A purple orb appeared in front of them which unleashed circular blasts with no trajectories whatsoever. Grotle and Croconaw took the hits head-on only to be slightly injured.

I gritted my teeth. It's ultra frustrating to not know the moves which your opponents uses. I asked the kids, "Was that Psyshock by any chance? "

Tate opened his right eye to wink. Liza giggled but neither replied. Great...

Riolu hissed and brought my attention back to Solrock and Lunatone who were repeating the attack. I retaliated, "Grotle counter with Razor Leaf! "

Grotle did what he was told and the resulting impact created a lot of dust. Just then, an idea popped up. "Grotle, swing Croconaw up!"

Grotle obeyed. His vines circled around the confused Croconaw and launched him into the air. I smiled. "Now Croconaw, use Hydro Pump!"

The blue orb splashed a gallon of pressurized water at the floating Pokémon. They plummeted down but caught themselves with Psychic before they could make contact. Grotle let out a Leaf Storm which whirled around the two Pokémon and chipped at their bodies.

The twins' faces showed pain. That proved that they were using telepathy if it wasn't obvious already. Lunatone's eyes turned pink and the leaves were repelled. Solrock rose to the air. A bright flash which followed blinded all of us. When my eyes recovered, multiple Psyshock attacks had hit my Pokémon. That was not what I expected.

Solrock's and Lunatone's bodies glowed slightly blue. A blue beam was fired at the ceiling which disappeared before contact. That left me confused for what to expect. The Gym Leaders' expressions were passive.

Either way, that didn't stop me from attacking. "Croconaw, Aqua Tail on Solrock. Grotle, Energy Ball on Lunatone. "

The attacks hit and the dust cloud was massive. The two meteorite Pokémon were taking heavy damage from our attacks but neither were close to fainting. I was about to order another attack when the earth slightly shook and the ceiling rippled. I was astonished at the attack which followed. A massive blue beam crashed down on my Pokémon, pushing them down. The beam dissipated a while later but Grotle and Croconaw were having a hard time standing up.

It had to be Future Sight. The logic of this attack makes no sense to me but what happens is, the user fires of a beam or ball of energy which disappears. After sometime, the energy is multiplied by a lot and comes crashing down at the opponent dealing a ton of damage.
