52. Poké-WHAT?!

Bryan turned and walked into the stage without another word. For over a minute, there was utter silence. I concluded that he retreated as the coward he is.

Either that or he went inside to appear half a minute later holding something which looked like a black pen with a red button at the thruster.

And anyone can guess which of the two happened.

Bryan pointed the tip at Suicune and pressed the button. Red light, which looked very familiar, caught Suicune before she could react. Her pupils narrowed and her muscles tensed. The mouth twisting into a snarl, she pounced at Ho-Oh, a tide of water at her feet.

Ho-Oh flapped her wings and the water vanished into thin air. The gust which formed knocked Suicune into the wall. Ho-Oh glared at Bryan who was pointing the pen at Entei with slight amusement.

That's when I realized it. The memory of the big machine back at Mt. Silver crossed my mind. The machine which can turn Pokémon violent. The B77 rays as Floyd called it. But there's no way that huge thing could be turned into a pen!

Still, I couldn't take the risk of Entei being hit by the red light. I jumped into the fray without hesitation. Weirdly enough, the light dispersed when it passed through my chest.

Entei nodded his head in gratitude. Bryan on the other hand, narrowed his eyes at me. "Who are you, grunt? And why are you interfering with our plans?"

I hesitated at that. Since everyone in the hall was down for the count, it's not highly possible that Bryan could do anything to me. Besides, I have two of the Legendary Beasts and Ho-Oh at my side! (Suicune is going to be fine in a minute!)

I took off the scarf first, followed by the sunglasses. Bryan's eyes widened for a second before turning serious. I expected a reaction like, 'You! How did you escape!' or something like that. But what this guy did, was to flick the pen at Raikou, who was too far away to shield.

I yelled a no as the red beam collided with Raikou. Ho-Oh took to the air when Raikou opened his mouth to let loose a Thunderbolt. Ho-Oh looked at me with utter shock. Entei roared and let loose a Flamethrower which pushed Raikou at Suicune.

Something whispered behind me, "You won't interfere."

Jerking my head back, my cheek met with a fist. It hurt like heck as I flew forward and Riolu fell down hard. How in the what in the what?!

I heard the sound of a Flamethrower as I flew. When I opened my dazed eyes, I saw Entei knocking the black pen aside from Bryan who was on the floor.

Entei rushed after that to check on me. I grunted in pain when my right cheek hurt. "I'm fine Entei. Go help Ho-Oh! Just knock Raikou and Suicune out for a while and they'll be back to normal. I'll take this guy on... probably."

Entei eventually hesitated but nodded. He Tackled the sneaky Raikou who was targetting Ho-Oh's back as she fought Suicune. Riolu was at my side, helping me up. I grunted. "I have no idea how he did it... But he's gonna pay for that. Wait, is he even-"

Bryan was towering over me in the next second, cutting my sentence off. Slight amusement was evident in his eyes. He crouched down and his eyes met mine. "You think you can beat me?"

I changed the topic for no apparent reason. "So you can speak now?"

His lips curled, just a tiny bit. He raised his hand and I was flying east the next moment.

How is he so dang FAST?!

The pain of the violent collision with the wall was not much. Perhaps my training with Neil had toughened me up by a bit! Anyway, I'm super glad that nothing of mine broke... yet.
