44. Rage Mode

Alan raised his eyebrow. " You don't look surprised. "

I shrugged. " Figured that most of Team Black had Mega Evolutions so... Not surprising at all."

He appeared to be taken back but regained his composture. " You speak as if you can beat Mega Evolution. "

" As a matter of fact, I can. Just-" I looked at Riolu. What a suspense killer... I should've asked Riolu to move away as soon as Magneton began messing with our ears. Riolu was sitting on the ground, clutching his ears as if for dear life. His high sensitive ears must have picked up more than neceassary.

I thought of getting Luxray to battle this out but Alan's words cut that off. "According to our reports, you have a Luxray and Kevin's old runt of a Pokemon. Heh, you might as well surrender kid."

I clenched my fist, letting out a  growl, "Totodile is many things but runt is not one of them...You are so gonna pay the price for that." Totodile exploded from his Pokeball with furrowed eyes and bared fangs.

He let out a laugh, " Seriously? You are pitting that runt against a Mega Evolved Manectric? How stupid are you? "

I gritted my teeth. " Okay then... I'll show you what this one can do. Totodile, Bite! "

Totodile roared and snapped at the Mega's legs. Too bad, it disappeared almost instantly and retaliated with a Tackle. Totodile shook of the momentum and whipped his tail at the Mega Manectric. I wish I could say it flew away but that's not the case.

Mega Manectric's fangs were bared and latched onto Totodile's left arm. The crackle of electricity and the brightest light ever which followed took a toll on Totodile. Before I could warn him, the Pokemon used a Charge Beam attack. With the buffs of Mega Evolution, the supposed to be single beam of current became five and collided with Totodile, sending him flying.

Totodile struggled to stand. His hand was badly injured but the will to win burned on. Even I felt inspired to win this no matter what the cost (except Totodile's well being) !

Totodile looked at me for orders. Since close combat attacks were of little use due to the Mega's outrageous speed, I had to resort to precise ranged attacks. "Don't give in Totodile! Use Water Gun!"

Pressurized water escaped from his mouth and slammed into Mega Manectric. The foe acted like it was nothing. Alan smirked, "Accepted defeat yet? "

" No chance! Use Bubblebeam! " Multiple bubbles reached out for Mega Manectric. The bubbles collided with barely any damage. Totodile's Water attacks were not having any effect on the Mega. But thank goodness, I could use them as a distraction.

I asked Totodile to repeat the attack. When one of the bubbles burst above the discharge Pokemon's eyes, I ordered for the Crunch to be delivered!

With surprising speed, Totodile covered the distance with glowing fangs ready to latch on the foe. It was a success and Mega Manectric's mane covered neck was up for serious damage.

The Pokemon cried in pain and glowered at my big jaw Pokemon. Moments before Mega Manectric could begin a counter, Totodile roared through the bite. In no time, the foe was hurled back by a powerful Hydro Pump dealing a significant blow. Mega Manectric howled as it crashed into the ground.

Alan was snarling. " Get up Manectric. We have work to finish. Ready the Thunder Attack now."

I said, " Don't allow it Totodile! Use Fury Swipes! " Totodile bared his teeth and slashed at the Mega Pokemon with his tiny claws. While it didn't cause harm, it delayed one of the most powerful Electric moves. Alan cursed under his breath. "Fine, Wild Charge! "
