"Melissa!" Carolin yelled at me.
I was breathing heavily and my mind was blank. The only emotion I felt was fear. The dream felt so real. Like I was actually walking into my own grave. I felt lifeless.
"It felt so real.." I said as I started sobbing. "I was going to die and I couldn't find you, Carolin!"
I kept on crying as Carolin hugged me and once again let me cry on her shoulder. It was frightening to feel like you've had a near death experience. It could have been real.
I finally managed to calm down and stop breathing like a kid having an asthma attack. I was feeling scared, but I could only imagine how Carolin was feeling. She had just seen me looking like I belonged in an asylum. Maybe I do or I at least might need therapy.
But my parents probably wouldn't give a rats-ass if I needed therapy or not. They'd probably make a lame excuse or they'd be fighting while I was trying to explain why I needed some damn therapy.
The moment I was absolutely calm, Carolin went back into the couch while I closed my eyes and tried to go back to sleep. Hopefully, I wouldn't have another dream like that ever again. Sadly, there was no hope in me falling asleep that night. I was calm, but I was still scared shitless. So all I did was wait and wait until the sun came up in the morning when I mostly felt safe.
