The next day at school felt a bit better. Not everyone was glaring at me and whispering crap about me to their friends. They must have been distracted by something else, but all I cared about was the fact that I was actually being ignored... and I liked it.
I walked to the usual back seat that made me feel like an islander, but there was another empty desk next to it which was pretty weird.
"Class this is Carolin." Mr Blake said happily "She is a new student here at Eastbrook High."
I rolled my eyes. Another dumb person to know that I was a so called "slut".
The girl walked into the classroom. Her eyes were hazel and her hair was down to her waist and curly. She was short, but she was beautiful. As she walked near my seat, she sat down to the neighboring desk. I kept my head down so she would ignore me, but it didn't seem to work very well.
"Hey, are you okay?" she whispered to me.
I looked up and saw her staring at me. "Huh?" I said.
"Well I just saw you with your head down and thought you were sick or something." she said innocently. "By the way I'm Carolin Sanders." she smiled.
I lifted my head up and smiled at her. "I'm Melissa Lee and it's nice to meet you, Carolin."
"People don't really like me that much here because there was a rumor about me." I said as my smile turned into a frown.
"Same here, that's why I came here." her smile had faded too. "Highschool can be tough"
"Tell me about it" I said.
The rest of the day was actually nice for a change. I talked to Carolin the whole time and we had a lot in common. It was like I had my own twin and it brought a little warmth in my heart to finally find someone that would actually be my friend.
