"Okay. Carolin, can you tell me what happened now?" I said to Carolin after I finally managed to calm her down a little bit.
"M..m..my g..grandmother." Carolin stuttered.
"What about her, Carolin?"
She sniffed and said "She passed away.. My mother called me to tell me when you were speaking on-stage."
"Oh no Carolin I'm so-"
"Your mom will be here soon." I was interrupted by Tyler as he came running back and handed my phone to me.
"Okay, thanks Tyler." I smiled and he smiled back. "Alright let's get Carolin up."
We both grabbed Carolin's arms and pulled her up. She plopped up like a dead body. It really hurt me and mostly Carolin that her grandmother had passed. Her family must be devastated. I was hurt because I met her grandmother two weeks ago. She was so nice and she treated me as if I were one of her grandchildren. My grandmother treated me like that too, but right now she was too busy acting like a woman with a mid-life crisis because she was grieving over her husband.
Finally, her mother pulled up with her mini cooper in front of the cemetery. She agreed to drive Tyler home too so Carolin sat in the front and Tyler and I were squished in the back because it was a pretty small car. He put his arm around me and of course my dorky self started to blush. AGAIN. But I decided to move closer and there we were. Right in the back of the car cuddling. You might think this would have been going to fast, but that was the only thing he would get away with tonight.
Even though there was a tiny romantic moment going on, in my mind, I was still worrying about Carolin. It's really weird how it went from bad to good to worst in one day. Wow.
