"Gone?" I said. "What do you mean.. gone?"
She sighed and said "He died sweety.. last night he.. died during his sleep."
I hung up the phone. I didn't want to speak to anyone.
"No! No! No!" I yelled.
My parents rushed into my room, finding me on the floor crying and screaming.
"Melissa, honey what's the matter?" My father asked.
"He's Dead! He's fucking Dead!" I screamed at them.
They didn't get a clue about what I broke down about. I couldn't explain. All I was able to do was grieve in my own way. Once I cried until I didn't have anymore tears left. I stayed quiet. I thought about my grandfather. Over and over again. He was the only thing in my mind and my mind was asking over and over "Why him and not me?".
*The Next Day*
I wasn't in good condition at all to go to school. I didn't eat, sleep, or speak at all. I was lucky enough to make it to my bed, but all I could do was stare at the wall for the whole day. It was gut wrenching feeling to accept his death. In my mind he was alive, but everywhere else.. he was dead and so was I on the inside.
