After lighting candles and a very long conversation with Tyler, I asked him if he would help me find Carolin and he said he would. We walked very closely together, so close that we could have been holding hands like a couple. I had to admit, I did like him. Through the long talk I felt a little bit of a connection with him. We had a lot of things in common. His parents were also like mine. Fighting. Didn't give a crap about anything else but picking a stupid topic to bicker about and they didn't really pay attention to him.
"Where in the world can she be?" I yelled.
"She must be a really good hider to have us looking almost everywhere" he grinned.
"Well I just hope she is okay." I took out my phone and saw that it was 10:30. Damn that must have been a long conversation because the memorial ended almost an hour ago.
As I was looking all around me, I tripped over a branch and Tyler managed to catch my clumsy ass.
"Thanks" I said as my cheeks were burning and started to turn bright pink. Thank god it was dark outside so he didn't get to see that.
"No problem" He said, but he didn't let me go for another couple of seconds. Then it got a bit awkward. I stopped to take my phone out of my purse and suddenly he grabbed my hand and I looked up.
"Look, I've liked you ever since I came to this school a month ago and I know it seems a bit creepy, but I really needed you to hear that. And I wondered if y-you wanted to go out with me." he sighed in relief and made a cute geeky smile.
I wanted to laugh a little bit but I had to admit, it was cute and nice that he said that.
I nodded and said "Yes, I will go out with you" I said as I started grinning and he gave me a hug. "I actually did have feelings for you. After that whole conversation, everything we had in common, I instantly loved you."
Suddenly, we heard someone crying and it broke our embrace. Tyler and I ran where the sound was coming from and there she was. Carolin, sitting on the ground with black eyeliner running down her face and she looked like shit.
"Oh my goodness. Carolin what's wrong?!" I yelled as I kneeled down to hug her. She didn't say a word. "Tyler here's my phone, call Carolin's mother and tell her to pick us up. Her number is in my phone." He nodded, took my phone and did what I told him to do. I sat down next to Carolin to comfort her as she was crying hysterically.
