Finally, I was able to get out of the house after five days. I was going to visit Carolin and talk to her about the problems I've been having lately. It felt good to have a friend to talk to instead of just sitting in your room staring at the wall every single day and night.

It was weird how close she lived to me. I have never noticed her at all when I walked to school. I saw her sitting at her stoop with her face close to her phone.

"Hey Carolin." I said very nonchalant

"Hey what's been going on you missed the rest of the week at school!" she yelled at me in a worried friend way.

"I'm sorry I left you hanging. "I just went through a lot this week."

"What happened?" she asked.

I felt a ball in throat and tears in my eyes getting ready to rush like a waterfall down my cheeks.

"My grandfather died." I said trying to hold back my tears.

It didn't work. The waterfall came rushing down my face making me look like a total mess. Carolin gave me a hug and let me cry on her shoulder. It was silent for a couple of minutes. When I finally stopped crying I wiped my tears and sat down on the steps near her door. I didn't have a clue about what I was going to say next. I've only known this girl for a couple of days and she's seen me at my worst. That would usually take a few years for people to see me like that. But I actually felt good about Carolin. Like i've never felt with a friend before.

"I'm so sorry about your loss.. I bet he was a great man before he passed" she said as she broke the silence.

"Thank you for comforting me." I said. "I've never let anyone seen me like this before, but you make me actually feel like I have someone by my side and I thank you for that."

She gave me another hug and I was slowly realizing that Carolin was beginning to become my best friend.
