In less than one hour, I was going to say goodbye to my own bully. Weird isn't it. But it didn't seem weird to me at the moment. I grabbed my purse and told my parents I was leaving, but they were probably sleeping or something. Carolin's mother was going to take us to the cemetary where the memorial was so I had to walk to her house first. Once I got there, I rang the doorbell and saw Carolin's mother. I couldn't even get a single breath out before she spoke.

"Carolin isn't ready yet sweety, so you can just head upstairs to hand out with her in her room."

I walked in quietly and headed up the stairs to Carolin's room. When I walked in, she was sitting at her vanity dresser trying to perfect her lips with cherry red lipstick.

"You ready? We've got 20 minutes to get there." I said in a hurry. She took a tiny bit of lipstick that was smeared on the side of her lip and finally stood up.

"I'm ready. Let's go." She said in a depressing way.

The ride from Carolin's place to the cemetery was 10 minutes long so we had enough time to talk about how evil Vanessa was to Carolin and I. When we finally got there, Carolin kissed her mother on the cheek and we hopped out of the car. I took a deep breath and fiercly walked in. Then I saw one of the girls that used to be one of Vanessa's minions. She walked up the stage with a piece of paper. She looked down and started to speak.

"Welcome, everyone to the memorial of Vanessa Kailing. Now I know she was very near and dear to us. She was like a sister to me. Before, I was lost and Vanessa took care of me like the big sister she was to me and I will miss her alot and-"

She began to cry. It made me want to cry too. How sad it was that everyone who cared about had to suffer with this tragedy. It felt kind of like a pain in the ass to me, but to everyone else I don't think they feel the same thing I do. I had to do something, I had to get up there. I walked to the stage near the end of the little tent they set up and asked the girl if I could go up. She moved out of the way and I stood in the middle. It wasn't as embarrassing to be in front of people anymore, but it did feel awkward. Everyone was staring at me in dead silence.

I sighed and said, " I get that you guys would ask why I'm up here. Well, I needed to come up here to speak for Vanessa. Even though she put me through hell, she still was my best friend when we were younger and I couldn't say goodbye to her without speaking here tonight and lighting a candle for her. So Vanessa if you're looking down at us right now, I just wanted to let you know that you were a good friend. I don't know what I did to make you go against me, but whatever it was, I'm sorry." Tears starting rolling down my cheeks. "If I could go back in time and fix what went wrong, I would Vanessa and I wouldn't have let you walk into the street or I would have stopped the car. But it's okay now. You are in a better place and this is not goodbye, but this is see you later, Vanessa."

I sighed and walked off stage while wiping my tears. In the background I can hear people clapping and sobbing and I thought did I really just do that?. But it was a weight off my shoulders and I felt relief.

I couldn't find Carolin anywhere, so I just grabbed a candle and sat down in the back while everyone was getting theirs. I looked down at the ground, starting to tear up again.

"That was really nice what you did up there." I jumped up when I heard the deep voice.

I looked up and it was a guy. I didn't know who he was, but he was majorly cute. He had dark brown hair and his eyes were so blue I thought I was drowing in a deep blue ocean.

"Thanks." I smiled and wiped my tear. "It wasn't really anything. I just had to get that off my chest."

"But that speech actually had more of a feeling in it. I loved it" He made a cute grin. "By the way, my name is Tyler."

" I'm Melissa" I said as we shook hands and he sat down next to me.
