(a/n: i'm trying to overcome my writer's block so badly)

when donghyuck woke up he felt mark's warm arms around him. he definitely would not complain about his position, cuddled up in the chest of the older. if he pressed his ear to mark's rib cage he could hear the other's heart beats. he buried his face into the other's neck, smelling him and enjoying the warmth and comfort of the moment. he knew this would not last so he tried to savour as much of it as he could.

when mark moved, after what donghyuck would guess about ten minutes, he whispered a quiet 'good morning'. mark ruffled his hair and then raised his head of the pillow he had been sleeping on.

"we didn't even brush our teeth yesterday." the older complained and donghyuck laughed into his chest.

"don't worry too much about it, not brushing your teeth one time won't harm anyone." he giggled.

"you don't need to smell my morning breath though." mark stated and donghyuck laughed again before hugging mark tightly and then finally raising himself off the bed.

suddenly jeno stuck his head into their room. "get ready guys, we have a meeting in half an hour." he announced before closing the door so the two were alone again.

"alright then." mark said, his voice still deep. it sent some shivers down donghyuck's spine and he got goosebumps.

"everything alright, hyuckie?" mark wanted to know, a little bit of worry in his voice. donghyuck found himself growing hot under the man's stare so he nodded weakly.

"yeah, i'm good. let's get dressed." he replied and added with a giggle "and brush our teeth."

mark laughed and the two hurried to get ready. their room now looked a bit more messier but also more lived in and donghyuck already got the homey feeling from the room that he loved back when he shared a room with johnny.

the boys finished quickly and joined the rest of the dreamies at breakfast. everyone was still sleepy so they didn't speak much. a look on his phone told donghyuck it was just after eight, so still pretty early. together they went to the conference rooms where some of their managers were already waiting for them. they greeted the boys and the dreamies bowed in reply. no matter how tired they were, it was always important to keep good manners.

the meeting was nothing special. they just talked about the upcoming comeback and a few changes in schedule. the album recordings were already finished but donghyuck, jeno, jisung and mark were still asked to go back in the studio for some extra recordings. donghyuck did not really understand why but as long as it didn't keep them behind in choreography or practice he didn't mind. he knew right now was very chill and that after the comeback they would be way more busy.

after the meeting renjun, jaemin and chenle went back to the dorms while the other four headed into the studio. their producer greeted them and explained there were some recordings that needed to be redone due to some files being damaged. he also apologised for the inconvenience but the boys reassured him it was fine. stuff like this could happen and it was nobody's fault. luckily the producer spotted the mistake early on so it wasn't that tragic.

they did their recordings and after went to a small restaurant to eat, just the four of them. their manager would be waiting in the car for them, to give them some privacy and alone time.

"you all did a great job." mark praised the group and they thanked him and returned the compliment.

"what else is on our schedule today?" donghyuck asked and jisung replied "just dance practice and some vocal teaching for injunnie and lele."

"lele's voice is so deep nowadays." jeno commented and imitated the chinese boy's vocals in their new song. they all laughed and chatted until their food arrived.

"donghyuck, how about we practice our part again today?" mark asked and the younger nodded his head "sure hyung."

and so they did. after lunch they went to dance practice which was tiring but they were all energetic enough to not care. after practice mark and donghyuck stayed behind to go over their part again. their instructor offered to help but as stubborn as both of them were they politely declined.

they replayed the song and went over the choreography as its whole before only practicing their part. after it ended they happened to have another stare down until the song ended.
"that was good, don't you think?" donghyuck asked but mark shook his head.

"we should keep dancing, why did you stop?" he stated and donghyuck looked at him with raised eyebrows. "you stopped too though." he commented but went back to his starting position.

after a few times of repeating their part they integrated it into the choreo as a whole and it worked out very well. soon one hour had past and due to their practice beforehand they grew tired soon.

"ah, all my muscles are sore." donghyuck whined and sat down on the floor. standing behind him, mark ruffled through the other's hair. he liked it when his hyung did that. it was a sign of affection and reassurance. he leaned onto the other's legs.

"careful." mark warned before sitting down to so that now he was back-hugging donghyuck in a sitting position.

"hyungie, i'm so tired." the boy mumbled and mark soothingly rubbed his belly, whispering "it's okay, hyuckie. we're done now."

he then kissed the top of donghyuck's head which was leaned on his chest. (donghyuck is half laying on the floor, half sitting if that makes sense.) the younger pretended not to see it even though they had the mirror covered wall right in front of them. he just closed his eyes and hoped that his blush wouldn't give it away. the older boy did not seem to notice but instead just put his head on top of donghyuck's. they sat like that for about ten minutes before mark finally raised himself up and motioned for donghyuck to do the same.

soon they had all their stuff together and exited the practice room. back in the dorm a loud discussion between chenle and jisung was going on. they had been playing games and chenle was frustrated with the outcome. mark threw a questioning look to jaemin who just helplessly shook his head. so it was nothing serious, just the usual banter.

they ate dinner and then went to their rooms even though jaemin, renjun and jeno remained in the living room, deciding to watch a movie. they invited everyone else but the rest declined. jisung and chenle were up for another battle and mark and donghyuck were both too tired.

after washing themselves and dressing in their pjs, they climbed into their beds. mark was still on his phone, probably answering some messages. donghyuck tried to sleep but something held him awake.

"hyung, i can't sleep." he whispered. he heard some ruffling and when he looked at mark. the other held his blanket open. donghyuck's eyes widened.

"are you serious?" he asked and mark just nodded so donghyuck hurried over to mark's bed and climbed under the covers. now with mark's body warmth embracing him, he felt super sleepy and quietly whispered "good night, hyung."

"good night hyuckie, sleep well." mark replied and donghyuck fell asleep in his arms.
