the days were flying by. it now became a habit of donghyucks to sneak under mark's cover every night. the older did not complain once and just let him. donghyuck knew mark found his behaviour cute but for him it was a reassurance and a sign that mark was still his best friend. in general the two got closer together, having more skinship and doing more activities. nobody questioned their behaviour because that was pretty much how they had been before having busy schedules due to mark's superm activities and donghyuck promoting alone with the dreamies for their ridin' comeback.

the only time they had been a bit embarrassed was during a live stream on vlive with the other members where they had been teasing the comeback. during the whole vlive they had been very clingy to each other so that after a manager told them to hold back a bit. even though, of course, it was sure that their managers had reasons, it still made donghyuck mad and he almost picked a fight with them. but mark held him back and apologised to their managers.

on their way back to the dorms mark tried to explain to donghyuck why the managers were right. "you've seen what happened to yuta-hyung and sicheng-hyung, do you want that to happen to us too? also it might seem like we're excluding the other members or they us."

"i know, hyung. but i just want to cuddle you." donghyuck said with a small, almost aegyo like, voice. mark didnt cringe. he rarely did when donghyuck did aegyo in private. instead he hugged the boy tightly. after letting go he whispered "it'll be fine, we can always cuddle at the dorms."

and that's what they did. tomorrow they had a free day so tonight was movie night. all the dreamies plus taeyong, doyoung and taeil were cramped together in front of the tv in the living area.

donghyuck was happily cuddled and tucked in between mark and taeil and was showering both with love constantly. taeil was used to it since the younger was very clingy to him too. mark could not help but notice and he admitted to himself he felt a bit jealous. he did not say a word though because he could see how happy donghyuck was and how deeply he enjoyed the time with the eldest. donghyuck needed some bonding with his hyungs too, after all.

on mark's other side sat doyoung. the two of them, even though very differently, were very close so that he was sure doyoung didn't mind sitting next to mark.

"how has everything been?" doyoung asked, quietly to not disturb the other members. mark turned his head into doyoung's direction and replied "very good, hyung. i enjoy living with the dreamies again even though sometimes they tend to be a bit loud."

the older giggled at that "yeah, i guess, us hyungs are a bit more quiet, huh?" mark nodded his head and then questioned his hyung about their life back in the other dorm.

"lucas is very chaotic but johnny and jungwoo kind of manage him. i think johnny misses you and donghyuck though. besides that..mh.." doyoung was thinking but then added "maybe, it's a bit harder to cook now."

"why?" mark asked. he loved doyoung's cooking and sometimes the older would cook just for mark which he appreciated very much.

"ten. you know, he doesn't like fruits." doyoung explained and mark giggled. 'yeah, ten-hyung was not always the easiest to deal with.' he thought. still every member liked the thai boy. in general mark was surprised how well all the members got along. he laid his head onto doyoung's shoulder and relaxed.

sometimes in all the busy times he forgot how important his members were to him. they were his family and he decided just then, looking at everyone, that he should really appreciate them.

suddenly he felt someone poking his arm. he turned his head and saw donghyuck looking at him. he gave him a questioning look so donghyuck leaned over and asked "everything okay?"

"yeah. just happy right now." mark assured and took donghyucks hand in his own. he didn't even know why but it just felt right. his heart though was beating really fast which he could not explain himself. it was just holding hands with his best friend, what was so unusual about it?

after the movie ended the hyungs went back to their own dorm but not before hugging each and everyone.

"don't make the managers life too hard, alright?" taeyong spoke, in a mother-like tone.

"and make sure to be mannered, always be nice." doyoung added and the dreamies all agreed to that. it was the usual and they heard it from their hyungs about a thousand times already. the boys knew the others just cared for them and did not want them to get into any trouble.

the dreamies cleaned up the living room and then went to bed, it was quite late already. donghyuck decided he would take a shower and mark said he would wait for him so they could cuddle again. even though donghyuck told the older it was fine and he could also sleep on his own, mark insisted. so he quickly took his shower and made sure to even dry his hair completely so it wouldn't wet the others pillow.

"there you are." mark said happily after donghyuck exited the bathroom. the older had already brushed his teeth and was ready for bed.

"come here." he spoke and donghyuck followed him under the warm and fluffy blanket. again they were laying together, hugging each other. mark was still on his phone so donghyuck just whined and mark looked at him, giggling.

"you want to sleep already, huh?" he asked.

"yes, i'm tired." donghyuck replied in a quiet voice. it was so soft, so fragile that mark suddenly felt the need to protect donghyuck from all evil in this world. donghyuck was just so precious to him, with the way he spoke so softly when he was tired.

"well then." mark said and turned the light off. their legs were tangled together and the only light source was the moon light that was shining through the blinds of the window. it was a nice and quiet atmosphere and donghyuck loved the feeling. it was his own, very personal heaven and he could not wish for anywhere better to sleep or anyone better to lay next to.

"sleep well, hyuckie." mark whispered.

"you too, markie." donghyuck whispered back and then closed his eyes. mark's hands were running through the youngers hair but came to halt after twenty minutes. donghyuck was almost asleep, his breath going deep and steady. just when he was driving off to dreamland he felt it.
he felt mark's lips on his own.
