as predicted by the all members, it was stressful. the first practices went well just like their opening concert but once they started touring in america, the atmosphere got heavier. they all joked around less and focused more. they sometimes had shows every night and it was exhausting. none of them got much sleep.

but it was worth it. standing on stage, seeing their fans waving up to them. all the hard work was worth it. they were welcomed by so many heart warming smiles, love-filled fan letters and overwhelming support.

but between all those sweet moments of course there had to be bad. not only was their bus often followed by sasaengs but also their bodies got more exhausted from time to time.

when they were in seattle, jeno had to get his phone switched out since the sasaengs wouldn't stop calling him. donghyuck also recieved a few messages and calls but jeno's sasaengs were way worse. it came as far that sometimes jeno would take separate cars just so the other members could rest without the disturbance of one of his sasaengs. mark told him, it was alright but jeno insisted. luckily it got better when the boy got a new phone.

the members had three days in seattle. the first two they practiced and of course held concerts and the last one they got to rest. they all basically slept until midday. mark suggested going out for a bit and invited them to dinner in a restaurant. luckily they got enough privacy and their managers were with them all the time just to make sure they stayed safe.

they were all seated together, the seven members and three of their managers. the atmosphere was lighter now that everyone got a bit of rest. mark had arranged it so that he could sit next to donghyuck. besides the usual talking they had to do for they job they hadn't been together ever since the tour started. simply because it had been busy and whenever they got some free time they either used it to practice or to rest.

"hey." he whispered to donghyuck as he nudged the boy with his arm.

"hi hyung." donghyuck whispered back and mark could see a tired smile forming on the male's lips.

"i miss you." mark said. it was slightly above a whisper but nobody would hear it anyways in this busy restaurant.

"i miss you too. so much." donghyuck replied and took marks's hand under the table.

and it was true. they had missed each other. donghyuck had trouble falling asleep without being in mark's arms and mark yearned for every single of donghyuck's smiles, laughs and hugs. they hadn't even kissed since the tour began.

"i wish i could kiss you right now." mark mumbled into the other's ear. donghyuck enjoyed their closeness and squeezed mark's hand. "me too. today let's take a night stroll okay?"

mark nodded in agreement and a small smile formed on his lips. he would have donghyuck for himself. even if it was only for a few hours, he would cherish every second he got with his hyuck.

so after they ate mark informed their managers that they would take a walk. their managers were against it but mark convinced them. they had been in the tour bus for too long. renjun asked if he could join him. donghyuck looked at him, with the silent please to not do it. somehow renjun seemed to get the note that donghyuck and mark wanted to be alone because he instead asked chenle and jeno to go with him. the managers agreed to that but with the condition that one manager would be with renjun, chenle and jeno and that mark and donghyuck called him if something was wrong.

mark and donghyuck decided to walk next to the sea on a side walk. the sun was down and the moon was shining over the water. not many people were around but the boys still wore their masks.

"let's sit down here." mark gestured to a bench that would give them an amazing view over the water. the sat down and donghyuck cuddled himself into marks side. the elder giggled and patted his head.

"hyung?" donghyuck asked, raising his head.

"yes hyuckie?" mark replied.

"can i kiss you?" donghyuck asked and the other nodded his head, suppressing a giggle from how cute the younger was. donghyuck pulled his mask down, mark doing the same. their lips met, first in hesitation but more passion with every second. they parted to catch a quick breath before mark connected their lips again. he relaxed and buried his hands in donghyuck's hair. the younger smiled into the kiss which got mark to smile as well. oh, how much he had missed those soft lips. after a few minutes they finally parted, mostly due to the lack of oxygen.

"i love you, hyuckie." he whispered under his breath but the younger didn't hear him. he was still to busy catching his breath and burying his head in the crook of mark's neck.

"did you say something?" he asked but mark just responded with a quick 'no'. he didn't know whether donghyuck was ready to hear these words from him. now they had a different meaning than the times before. mark hadn't said those words often, especially to donghyuck but in some emotional moments they would escape his mouth. but that was before all this started. those were different 'i love you's. they didn't carry the same meaning, the same kind of love as this one.

the two didn't talk much, just enjoyed each others presence. if words were shared they were quiet and sweet, peppered in between their kisses and cuddles. as the night grew colder the two walked back, their hands intertwined. they entered their bus, mark keeping donghyuck from going directly to his bed. he quickly pecked donghyuck, telling him good night. the smile he received in return was bright like the sun. it gave mark hope. he changed and climbed up to his bed, careful to not wake any of the members up.

donghyuck did the same and laid in his bunk bed. he got an idea and got his phone. he opened his chat with mark and typed. when he sent the message he could see marks phone lighting up. mark looked at it and giggled. he sent a flying kiss to donghyuck who blushed and giggled as well. mark typed something back and donghyuck looked at their chat.

donghyuck giggled at mark's reply and mark winked at him. probably because of that last part. donghyuck rolled his eyes and cuddled himself into his covers. he wore one of mark's hoodies and it smelled amazing. it was almost as if mark was laying next to him.

mark meanwhile kept looking at donghyuck as the boy closed his eyes. he was just so beautiful mark thought. when donghyuck texted him, especially the little 'ily' his heart had beaten so fast. donghyuck said it too, well over text and abbreviated but still. next time the two were alone together mark would say it out loud he told himself. he was now sure, donghyuck returned his feelings and he just couldn't keep it a secret anymore. he would probably scream it out in the world if it wasn't for the fact that he was an idol and donghyuck was his best friend in the eyes of the public. not to forget the homophobia that was still very present in korea.

tomorrow they would fly to canada. that made mark smile, especially since he would get a chance to see his parents. they had three days in vancouver, one day off just like here in seattle. then he would visit them and maybe he could convince donghyuck to come with him. the male had only met marks parents once so mark wanted him to get to know his parents better. mark snickered to himself that his parents would get to meet their soon-to-be son-in-law. oh how much the canadian wished that was true. he fell asleep soon, they had to get up in a few hours and mark better got all the sleep he could possibly get.
