it was silent. everyone was staring at johnny, taeyong and renjun who were staring at mark and donghyuck.

"we are dating." donghyuck repeated quietly. renjun was the first to do anything and that was to hug donghyuck.

" i knew it. i fucking knew it." the chinese boy said. donghyuck hugged him back but looked at mark who's eyes were on taeyong and johnny still.

"you are what?" jeno asked, his voice kind of hoarse. he was obviously shocked and nobody could blame him.

"me and mark are dating. i hope thats okay with you guys! we promise we won't be stupid, we'll be completely normal, nothing will change! i'm so sorry!" hyuck ranted, tears filling his eyes. he didn't even realise he was crying until renjun wiped his tears.

"hyuck, there is nothing to apologise for." taeyong said but his eyes were not on the boy but on mark. he quickly exchanged a look with johnny and the two seemed to come to a silent agreement.

"mark, a minute outside?" the second oldest in the room asked and mark wordlessly stood up and followed taeyong. his plate of food was still on the table, barely even touched.

"soo, hyuckie.. tell us everything." johnny said and sat down between donghyuck and chenle.

while donghyuck was busy telling their story to the dream members and johnny, mark was nervously following taeyong out onto the hallway. his leader sat down, leaning onto a wall. mark hesitated but then followed his actions. they didn't sit too close because to be honest, mark was scared shitless of taeyong's reaction right now.

"first of all" taeyong started "congratulations. i did not expect this but i know too well myself, you can't decide who you love. if you love hyuck, personally that's fine by me." the man continued and mark sighed in relief.

"but of course there is a lot we have to talk about. first of all, will you tell the company? i'm assuming that this has been going on without anyone knowing, judging from the boys' reactions." the older man continued.

mark opened his mouth but taeyong sensed that and said "don't interrupt me. then next thing, i am pretty sure that you want to keep the relationship out of the public eye for now and i'd advise you and donghyuck to, if anything, make it public when you're so far with your life that you won't be bothered by being judged by the public. you know how citizens are. then third of all, i am a bit disappointed. you know, you could've told me. i would never judge you for such a thing. especially since you already carry the burden of a leader, you're responsible for your members and we both know donghyuck wouldn't talk with me about those things. that's more johnnys or doyoungs area." taeyong finished and looked at mark.

the younger was crying and in that moment taeyong could see a much younger, innocent and vulnerable mark than he had in many years. the older of the two opened his arms and mark fell into them, not caring that he would wet taeyong's shirt.

"i don't deserve you, hyung!" he whispered through the sobs. taeyong rubbed his back comfortingly and told him everything would be alright. and it felt good to hear it from the man. mark was always trying his best as a leader but taeyong, he was made for that role. he gave good advice, was patient and smart, wise but still playful.

"thank you hyung. can you help me with you know-" mark took a deep breath to calm himself down then continued "can you help me with dealing with this mess?"

"i'll try my best, mark." taeyong said and smiled at the boy reassuringly. the younger wiped his tears and distanced himself a bit.

"are you ready to go in?" taeyong asked while opening the door. mark averted his gaze and stared at the floor while replying "you go first, i'll be there in a minute."
