this time donghyuck was the first to wake up but it was only due to his alarm. today was the day. the day of their comeback. the members now had months of preparation behind them and were ready to start their promotions.

as funny as it sounded but today even though it was their comeback day it would be quite chill. they had filming to do in the afternoon (they would film their reaction to the music video and comment on it) before at 6pm their album and music video would be released. from tomorrow on they would start promoting, their first appearance on 'the show' and their last on weekly idol in about one and a half months. in between award shows, music shows and performances would happen but they were prepared and ready. then after their promotions depending on the success of their album, their agency would decide on what kind of tour they would have. donghyuck hoped it would be a world tour because even though it was stressful they wanted to meet as many fans as possible.

he woke up mark next to him due to all his movements.
"good morning, hyuckie."

"morning mark, today's comeback day! how are we feeling?" donghyuck questioned and mark groaned. it gave the younger goosebumps since the groan was deep. it took him back to a few days ago. actually mark's whole appearance made him feel tingles his his stomach. the v-neck top that showed just enough of his collarbones, the messy hair and mark's arm and neck veins that were clearly visible. donghyuck gulped, this was not what his mind was supposed to think about today. luckily enough for him, mark just pulled the blanket over his head so that only his hair was visible from under the covers. donghyuck laughed at his hyung and finally raised himself up from the bed.

"come on, show me some motivation! you're re-debuting in your own group." he said and pulled the blanket away from mark who just giggled.

"i'll retreat to the bathroom while mr. lee is waking up." donghyuck joked and then proceeded to go wash up. mark was just sitting there on the bed, slowly starting his brain, telling it to wake up.

in the kitchen it was quiet. everyone was just minding their own business, trying to calm their nerves. mark noticed that neither jaemin nor jeno were eating and was just about to ask but then he remembered they were on diet. both of them definitely did not need it but both of them wanted to and mark had decided that they were old enough to know what was best for them. the only thing that the leader was scared of was that jeno and jaemin might feel pressured, either by their company or by their fans, to keep their abs. they absolutely did not need to keep them. even though mark also recently started working out and it showed he could never go for a diet, he just liked eating too much. (a/n: honestly what a mood)

the day passed fast and right now all the dream members were sitting in front of a camera. on the table sat a laptop where they would now react to the music video.

"action." they heard from their managers and the camera was rolling. they introduced themselves as always and then jisung went forward to click 'play' on the video. it started up and all the eyes were glued to the screen. the video turned out amazing and mark did not fail to notice how good donghyuck looked. the latter was sitting next to him and mark was cheering him on whenever he appeared on the screen. donghyuck flashed him a happy look, he himself was impressed with the way the music video turned out. after they briefly discussed the video, the members praising their leader the most since it had been hus first time shooting with the dreamies after he graduated. mark took the compliments and also returned them. he was really happy with the outcome of the video and the album in general. his members did an excellent job.

when the shooting had ended it was half past five meaning only half an hour left until the group officially had their comeback.

"i hope our fans will like it." jeno spoke up.

"i'm sure they will. nctzens love us and they'll support us no matter what." mark reassured the younger. renjun nodded and said "yeah! don't worry, jeno!"

they were all sitting on the couch in their dorm, waiting for the release. chenle kept updating them on how crazy the fans already were and the album wasn't even released yet.

mark noticed that donghyuck also seemed anxious. "haechanie, calm down." he said and took donghyucks hand. recently the name haechan had grown so familiar to mark that he would randomly call donghyuck that. the latter didn't seem to care.

"what if they'll hate it? what if it turned out bad?" the younger boy asked with a small voice. mark caressed his hand while assuring him their fans would love it. he himself was pretty sure about that since he had seen all the love that their nctzens had for them and whenever he was anxious he recalled the pictures of fans supporting them. it warmed his heart. this was one of the good things when being an idol, as much as you were hated sometimes, you always knew your true fans loved and supported you. it felt good to know.

all the members gathered in front of the tv. jeno projected the screen of his laptop onto it (jisung and chenle helped him). they were looking at tweets and when the clock turned six they watched the music video once more.

"why isn't the number going up?" jeno asked, with sadness laced in his voice.

"it's because too many people are clicking it, nono. don't worry!" jaemin laughed and hugged his friend.

"look, the people love it!" renjun said and pointed at a tweet that reviewed their album. it was positive feedback only.

"yayy!" donghyuck cheered and went to hug mark who sat next to him. same for chenle and jisung who were also hugging. donghyuck pulled jisung to himself and also hugged the younger. it ended up just becoming a big group hug with all the members. after a while they let go and mark advised them to go to bed. he would rather have his members sleep now since he knew the upcoming weeks were going to be very stressful.

mark laid in his bed waiting for donghyuck to come out of the bathroom. the latter had decided to take a quick shower before joining mark in bed. when the male finally exited the bathroom mark opened the covers and the younger male laid down next to him.

"i'm glad they like it." he said and mark turned his head to look at him. the younger was completely covered under the blanket only the upper part of his face visible.

"of course, they do. hyuckie. you did an amazing job." the elder whispered. his voice was deep since he hadn't spoken in a while and since always in the past days it gave donghyuck goosebumps.

their faces were really close, the boy noticed. his eyes met mark's and when they did he already kind if knew what was going to happen. and just like he predicted it, mark leaned forward and connected their lips. it was short but sweet and donghyuck smiled in the kiss. it just felt so right. the latter slowly pushed himself up so that he was hovering over mark. the two quickly parted to breathe and locked their eyes.

mark's gaze gave donghyuck shivers. mark's dark pupils that held stars, no galaxies in them as he looked at donghyuck with adoration. donghyuck was just about to say something about them when mark pulled him down, their lips meeting again. and donghyuck gave in, let mark do whatever he wanted. the kiss started to get heated and just when donghyuck was about to bury his hands in mark's hair the older man distanced himself again.

a smirk was visible on his face when he said "goodnight hyuckie." and turned the light off. donghyuck was about to protest but he realised he should probably sleep, it was better to do so due to the fact that he wouldn't be getting much sleep in the next time. and so he closed his eyes, his head now buried in mark's neck. he fell asleep with mark's smell in his nose buds and the other's hands around his waist.
