Art Credit: unknown (please credit artist in the comments of you know them!)
(Y/N) felt her eyes shut tight at the impact, only feeling a warm mass on her side, getting a brief whiff of a familiar cologne she had grown to recognize, and hearing the sound of an object smacking something else as she was pushed away. As she stumbled back the art teacher fell to the ground, opening her orbs of (e/c) just to see Toshinori on his back with his hand gripping his chin.
"Oh my God! Why the hell did you do that, Toshi?!" the woman gaped at him, crawling toward him as he groaned. Minding the small rocks and dust surrounding him, (Y/N) knelt at his side, trying to pry his hand away from his jaw as some of the students began to notice.
"All Might!!" Young Midoriya was first to run up, nearly about to burst into tears watching the retired hero on the ground. Shouta came up quickly to intercept the young man, and (Y/N) could nearly see the steam radiating off of him.
"This...is JUST like last time, Yagi!" Shouta hissed out, making Toshinori flinch under his scrutinizing stare. The blonde didn't reply as he slowly sat up, (Y/N's) hands that were on him giving him a bit of comfort. Now that he was sat up, the woman could clearly see the corner of a cut on his chin with blood seeping past his fingers."(Y/N), take him to Recovery Girl. Before there's more of a scene." The black haired man droned with some sort of emotion that didn't sit well with the woman, not even looking at the retired hero as he stood up. Pushing back young Midoriya, the pro hero grunted.
"Do it now. I've had enough of him trying to save others when he can't even save himself." he muttered the last parts of his remark, the judgment and distaste in his words clear and loud.
(Y/N) could feel Toshinori shrink at his words, and after she had heard his comment immediately found herself pissed. With her hand on Toshinori's chest she could feel his heartbeat, the consistent thumping under his ribcage somehow urging her to give the other hero a piece of her mind.
"Shut your mouth." The art teacher forced out, not only surprising Toshinori who was beside her, but Shouta himself. He hadn't turned around to face them, but he was clearly tense under her harsh words.
"Toshinori saved me, and he's standing. He's still a hero." (Y/N) growled at him before urging the blonde away as he still held his bloody chin in his hand.
"Before you make stupid comments like that be aware of other people's feelings, Shouta." (Y/N) spat poison at him, attempting to leave as quickly as possible before she found herself starting a brawl.
Once they were out the gymnasium, the quirk erasing hero let out a long held breath.Shouta had never truly got along with All Might even before his secret was fully revealed. The dark haired man kept repeated what (Y/N) had said in his mind.
"He's still a hero."
The man knew very well that Toshinori was at a great disadvantage now that he was quirkless. It would be stupid of him to jump head first into danger without the necessities to protect himself. Even now that he was retired, the dark haired man wondered why did that man still feel the need to help others? It irked Shouta, in ways he probably would never admit to the latter.
But (Y/N's) short words had reminded him that Toshinori was still a hero, no matter if he was in retirement. It was then too that he realized he had been treating the Symbol of Peace a little less of what he was. A hero. Though the man was retired, that did not render him completely useless. It was hard to admit to himself, but it was wrong to view the blonde that way after everything he'd done and what he wanted to continue doing.
As the students went back to training and Shouta thought more to himself, it was more he realized what could've happened if Toshinori hadn't intervened. As the man replayed the situation in his mind, it was unnerving to find that the fragment of rock would've hit (Y/N) directly in the head. The woman was shorter than Toshinori by a good amount, and if he hadn't pushed her out of the way any sooner she may have been seriously hurt. Shouta didn't want to think of what consequences would've remained if that had happened.
