Toshinori had then decided it was finally time to ask (Y/N) if she wanted to marry him.

The first step was to find and purchase a ring that best suited her, but the issue that befell him now was determining how to figure out her ring size without her realizing his plans. When he doubt, he supposed, he always relied on search engines and books in places where his knowledge lacked. After some time looking through the web and sheepishly asking a handful of his married friends their opinions and advice, he had a handful of options to chose from to find her size.

One route he could take, which seemed to be the easiest was utilizing one of (Y/N's) existing pieces of jewelry if she had any for him to use. The only issue he found in that was that if she had rings it may not be specifically for her ring finger. Maybe she had a ring for her thumb or even her pinky. To add to Toshinori's doubtfulness about his first option was the fact that he had never seen her wear any rings, and if she had them he had no idea how or if he could ask her about them without giving away his intentions. Another option was to ask friends or family about the size, but as she hadn't physically seen her family in years he wasn't confident their insight would be help to him. In regards to her friends, he wasn't sure they would be of much help either.

Along with the two other choices there was one idea that consistently popped up on each website the retired man found himself on, and the components of the task itself wasn't something he was completely comfortable with. In its simplicity, all the man would have to do is measure her ring finger with something like a string or ribbon while she slept. If the cerulean eyed man hadn't been born into this life with copious amounts of chivalrous behavior and respect toward his lover he wouldn't have thought twice about choosing this option so he could quickly find a ring for his proposal.

To some this would be a simple, painless task.

But not to him.

Toshinori just couldn't find comfort in the idea of doing something to his lover while she was unconscious, not matter how innocent it was. Unless he was carrying her to bed after she wiped herself out after a long day or something of the sorts, anything else really was off the table. He did enjoy seeing her resting from time to time, finding joy and fulfillment over seeing (Y/N) so peaceful and at ease under his watchful eye.

In the end, the retired man opted for the first option, and found that sneakily snagging one of her rings was actually a piece of cake. His little prize had actually been resting on her bedside table on her side of their shared bed, which gave him so much relief as luck seemed to be on his side. Not dallying any further however, the man made his way to the best jewelry parlor in Musutafu that same day, as directed by Nemuri, beginning his anxious search to find the perfect or near perfect ring.

(Y/N), during her partners journeys was very quick to catch onto his odd behavior but could sense that there was no ill nature in his actions. Due to this she kept her awareness of his secretiveness to herself, wondering what could it possibly be for him to be acting this way. It was very clear he was hiding something from her.

A surprise, maybe?

If that was the case, she would just merely have to wait as see what would happen, as she just loved surprises.

Toshinori on the other hand had debated on how he would go about bringing up marriage to her. Young Izuku when the retired man had mentioned his intentions suggested he could ask the just recently graduated class to assist him with his surprise. They had grown along with their relationship during their schooling and giving the woman a proposal around the kids she taught and grew may be nice. The green haired hero thought it would be very cute as well.
