The past, is a peculiar thing.

It had taken years for (Y/N) to understand that the past wouldn't define who she was or who she would become, and she wasn't afraid to admit she thought about her past often.

On days where she was left with her thoughts, the woman would recollect on her time in America, her home, her rise in the pro hero world as well as what she believed to be her downfall.

She'd always been so sure of herself before...

Mighty Marina grinned, easily dodging a shriek attack from the villain Banshee.

She let out a low grunt, pumping her legs forward on destroyed pavement as she bounced lightly on her feet. The ivory haired villain was looking down at the water hero at the roof of one of the buildings on the deserted street. After authorities and hero agencies in the city had been notified that villains were causing a ruckus, the citizens had been evacuated and heroes were sent in.

This included the new rookie hero Mighty Marina who had an already growing fanbase.

Having previously shadowed over a hero with a similar quirk to hers, the doe eyed woman was eager to improve her city and help the fight against evil. Like many budding heroes (Y/N) had inspired by the famous Symbol of Peace, All Might, who was already superior on the hero scene when the woman joined herself. He had already been known as hero for nearly fifteen years after his debut and though his age was never confirmed by the media the water hero guessed she was probably not too far in age from him since he graduated school about a decade before her.

All her other schoolmates were also influenced by the Japanese hero's undaunted bravery against villany, and like many others (Y/N) admired him. She understood his appeal, especially in his appearance as many men and women openly wanted him and wanted to be like him.

She would have never guessed that the man who motivated her into hero work would one day become the love of her life. Fate worked in a silly way in that sense.

Mighty Marina in an instance shifted her (e/c) eyes to her sparkling lightning blue hue as she summoned her power, directing her hands to nearby fire hydrant and tugged her arm up, using the pressure of the water inside to completely pop the metal off the ground like a cork in a bottle. (Y/N) had to do this often when she was fighting in the city as she was unable manifest her element like other heroes could. If she was on the scene in a public area such as this it was very likely that two or three hydrants would have to suffer for her to work properly.

She couldn't count the amount of times she's had to formally apologize to the firefighters and the mayor, but they still let her do it as a hero for some reason.

Were they allowing it as long as she was successful with fighting villains?

Water from the now broken hydrant bursted from the ground in a tall fountain of water, some of the big droplets that fell back the the earth cooling her warm skin and dampening her nylon hero suit. Fitting of her quirk, Mighty Marina wore a one piece shoulderless bodycon suit that was laced with malleable protective armor and cut at a "V" on the collar. She also had gloves reaching behind her elbows and matching boots that cut at about mid-calf that protected her hands and feet.

For what she wore, some fans and officials considered her to be categorized in the R-rated hero status, however her choice in outfit was designed specifically for better movement and speed. If she were to wear a more covering hero suit, the water she used could potentially weigh her down and slow her momentum when fighting.

Banshee gazed down at the heroine with a small frown and then to the broken hydrant, the bitter feeling of annoyance creeping up on her at the sight. Her intentions were to avoid the other woman in finding another water source after she'd just lured her away from a place that may give her the upper hand. This chase had been going on for nearly an hour now since the pros arrived, and like many rookies Mighty Marina flung herself headfirst into battle without much thought and without consulting her seniors. Besides this, Banshee once again had to wait for her throat to use another shriek which left her more vulnerable, and her companion was no where to be seen.
