He was moving before he could hear his colleagues rise and cheer for Mighty Marina's victory, or catch the sound of the news reporter's voice describing everything that was going on for current recovery.
He was on his phone dialing Naomasa as he ran through the empty halls and barreled down stairs.
Toshinori Yagi had no idea where he wanted to go as his body was just moving because it had to, but he knew he needed to find out where (Y/N) was being taken and to see her.
She had won the fight yes, but that feat was simply half the battle. Having witnessed the entire fight from start to finish, which had actually been just about twenty minutes despite how long it truly felt, he knew the intense exertion his partner had put herself through as well as the injuries she received. The retired hero grimaced silently to himself as he ran out the teacher's dorms of UA and began running down the vacant walkways to the front entrance to the school.
All that his mind was repeating back to him was the terrible memory of (Y/N's) agonizing screams and violent thrashing as Banshee crushed her ribs with the brute force of her weight. Her most dangerous injuries had occurred on her left side, the very same as his, and when he saw what had happened he couldn't help but feel a jolt of pain radiate through his cratered injury as if his body was reacting to what he was seeing. It was like he could feel everything she was feeling, along with being reminded of painful memories of his own fight that changed him forever.
She had obviously broken bones and could have potential internal injuries that need immediate attention. He was probably an expert in knowing how hard the aftermath of such an intense battle could be, and his heart ached just imagining his partner in a white hospital bed with tubes down her throat or not being responsive.
After a couple more tries on his phone, his officer friend finally picked up the call.
"Toshinori! I was just about to call you."
The blonde man slowed his running to a jog until stopping entirely once he passed the gates to catch his breath. He did his best not to heave through the speaker while Naomasa spoke. Beads of perspiration were already forming at the cut of his brow and his single lung burned from being suddenly put on overdrive. Even though most of his mind was focused on (Y/N) and meeting her at whatever hospital she was sent to, Toshinori commended himself for running without stopping from the dorms which was at the end of the campus to the very gates before UA. It was reflecting how he was growing healthier in his retirement and that gave him a little bit of comfort.
"Where are they taking her? Please, tell me Naomasa." he breathed with the phone pressed against the thin angle of his cheek. His hands barely could hold the phone up from how shaky he felt.
He was restless. Uneasy.
"Fujiya Hospital in Tokyo. It was the nearest hospital with an ICU ward that can take care of her injuries. (Y/N) is being sent there right now as we speak. You'd be able to take a quick train there, maybe ten—fifteen minutes."
The retired hero gulped hard, his hands trembling and his mouth dry.
"...T-Thank you for letting me know. I'll do that then." Toshinori eventually replied so quietly as he stared hard at the pavement that Naomasa nearly didn't catch all that he said. He could hear the officer hum on the other end of the line.
"Don't worry Toshinori. Fujiya has some of the best surgeons Tokyo has to offer, so (Y/N) is in good hands if her injuries require it. I'll talk to you when things die down but be careful. There's probably gonna be a lot of press at the hospital wanting info on Mighty Marina's condition."
