'I love you'

TW: Remus' intrusive thoughts, sort of nightmare, angst

3rd POV(Ooo something new that I hope I didn't stuff up :) )
As time passed, Virgil stirring a few times in his sleep, the hero's cuddled on the couch, giving each other little kisses every now and then. Everything was peaceful but they all knew that it wouldn't last for long. They knew they still had to figure out a plan to defeat Deceit and Remus. Logan was the first one to address the situation. "I apologise for bringing this up at this time but we still need to discuss about what we have to do about Deceit and Remus" He said. His boyfriends expressions fell, both of them looking murderous about what they did to their emo boyfriend. "I say we kill them" Roman growled out. Patton gasped and hit him on the shoulder. "Roman you know that's not how we deal with things. As much as I want to as well, we must be the better person" Patton stated, frowning. Roman sighs and buries his head in Patton's neck. "Yeah I know. Its just sad to know that one of my family members did that to our emo" Roman said, his voice muffled. Logan wrapped his arms around Roman's waist, giving him a kiss on the forehead. "We know but he is not your relative anymore" Logan said.

Roman nodded and leaned into Patton's hand that was running through his hair. They were completely oblivious to Virgil's quiet muttering and shaking. Virgil was having a nightmare sort of thing. He was half awake and half asleep when it hit him, to him the nightmare felt familiar. As Virgil stood up, looking into the black void he felt someone standing behind him. He spun around and found himself face to face with the bloodied mangled bodies of his lovers. Virgil felt shock go through him as well as fear. He ran over to Logan's body and picked his head up and rested it on his lap. "L-Logan?" Virgil croaked out, tears running down his face. He ran his hand down Logan's face, shuddering at how cold his body felt when all of a sudden Logan's eyes snapped open and grabbed his wrist in a vice like grip. Virgil jumped but sighed in relief. "Oh my god Logan you're alive" He sobbed. Logan just looked at him, his eyes glossed over and his face caked in dry blood. "You did this to us Virgil" He said, his voice holding no expression. "W-What?" Virgil questioned panic and fear rushing through him. He couldn't have done this to them, he loved and cared for them. He would rather die then do this to them. "You did this to us Virgil. You killed us even after we had done for you" Logan said with tears now running down his face.

"N-No I co-couldn't h-have" Virgil said in disbelief. "Say that to your bloodied clothes and to the knife your holding" Logan said with anger lacing his tone. Virgil shook his head but stopped once he saw that Logan was right. His normally black and purple outfit was now coated with a scarlet colour and in his right hand held a large kitchen knife. Virgil gasped and threw the knife away in shock, backing away from the bodies of his dead boyfriends, one of them alive. "N-No I-I d-d-didn't d-do i-it." Virgil stammered, almost screaming when he saw his lovers suddenly rise like they were being controlled. The anger they held was clear to Virgil and he feared on what they would do to him. "Why? Why would you do this to us Anxiety? After we gave you our love!" Patton yelled. Virgil flinched back and shook his head furiously, unable to speak at the moment. "You don't belong with us! You belong with them." Roman snarled. "N-No I-It was-" Virgil was cut short by Logan laughing coldly. "Y'know what Anxiety, we never loved you. We only pitied you." Logan sneered while Patton and Roman had smirks etched onto their faces. Virgil felt like his heart was being crushed by a giant hand but he couldn't help but felt like something was off.

Virgil looked closer at their appearances. Logan had his usual attire on but his glasses were a dark navy blue and his tie was his old light blue one instead of his dark blue one. Roman clothes were normal but if you looked closely at his jacket you could see that the gold patterns on his jacket were actually green. Patton's cardigan was plain grey instead of his cat one. Virgil narrowed his eyes at his 'boyfriends'. They aren't real, this is just a dream. He thought before standing up and facing them. The imposters stopped laughing and was now smirking at him once more. "You're not real" Virgil stated confidently. Roman chuckled sinisterly and gave him a menacing smile that was all to familiar to Virgil. "Then who are we Anxiety?" He asked. Virgil took a deep breath and started branching his shadows through his brain. Virgil found out another presence that was behind the imposters and could feel who it was. In anger his eyes glowed a dark purple and pulled back his shadows. "Remus" Virgil snarled and shuddered when he heard Remus laugh coldly. The imposters vanished and there stood Remus in his villain attire.

"Awe that was over too quick~" Remus pouted but smiled afterwards. "Hopefully I'll get to do it again when you get back to the base!" Virgil frowned at him in confusion and Remus notices and cackled loudly. "Deceit and I want to back at the base asap. Otherwise something might happen to those boy toys you have~" Remus threatened while conjuring his mace, swinging it around carelessly. Virgil gulped harshly while pulling at his sleeves and nodded at Remus. "Great! See you soon Anxiety~!" Remus shouted, vanishing. Virgil jolted up awake and started panting catching the attention of his boyfriends who instantly rushed over to him. "Hey, hey Virge it's okay" Patton comforted, pulling him onto his lap while Logan held his hand and Roman ran his hands though his hair. Virgil calmed down soon after and snuggled into Patton's chest. "Do you wanna talk about it?" Logan suggested. Virgil let out a sigh. "I 'ave to go back" Virgil said, his voice muffled by Patton's shirt. They all tensed up and looked at each other before looking back at Virgil. "No you don't kitten you can stay here with us and we can protect you" Roman said filled with determination to keep Virgil safe. Virgil shook his head.

"I 'ave too. Remus came to me in dream, telling me to 'ome back" Virgil stated then turned around to face them. Logan felt confused and thought about what Virgil told them. "I thought his powers focused on intrusive thoughts?" Logan questioned. "I must of been just waking up and that's when he forced himself into my head" Virgil shrugged. Logan nodded in understanding and picked him up and put him in his lap, burying his face in his neck making Virgil blush. "You're not going" Logan said. Virgil sighed in content and leaned back into him. "I have to Lo, he said he was gonna hurt you guys if I don't go back" Virgil said sadly. "I don't want you guys to get hurt" Virgil's eyes were glistening with tears that made the hero's hearts ache. "Oh love, we can help you. We just need a plan" Roman soothed him. Virgil grumbled but nodded in agreement. Little did the hero's know that Virgil was already planning to leave at night while everyone was asleep. "How about we go back home and watch a movie and cuddle?" Patton suggested hugging Roman. Everyone agreed and Virgil offered to shadow travel and they agreed. Soon enough they were home and were cuddled up on the couch watching Tangled with blankets over them. Patton was the first to fall asleep, Logan and Roman following not long after.

Virgil looked over at his boyfriends and smiled sadly, he knew that he would probably never see them again so he wrote three words on a piece of paper he had. He then jumped out of the window but not before taking one more good look at them and placing the paper somewhere they would find easily. On that piece of paper were these three words.

'I love you'
