INT. URSHIFU'S GUILD - DAY
Dewott climbs down the ladder into the guild and looks around. Everybody is minding their own business, chatting or looking at the quest board. As Dewott enters, a few Pokemon glare in her direction.
BIBAREL
Dewott...
Kayla ignores him and starts walking towards her quarters.
BIBAREL
Why'd you do that to Braixen?
DEWOTT
None of your beeswax.
Dewott approaches the door to her bedroom, but hesitates before going in. She doesn't like apologizing to people, so this is making her uncomfortable.
LUCARIO (O.S.)
Are you just going to stand there?
Kayla notices Lucario, who's leaning against a wall nearby.
DEWOTT
(Nervous)
Oh, um, Lucario. No, I... I'm gonna go inside.
LUCARIO
You'd better be coming to apologize. Do you know how betrayed Braixen felt?
DEWOTT
Um, I think so.
LUCARIO
Then make it clear that you do. You owe her an honest apology, at the very least.
DEWOTT
Y-yeah.
Kayla opens the door to her bedroom and slowly walks inside. Braixen, who is sitting in her hay bed, pretends not to see her. There is an awkward pause.
DEWOTT
So you're just going to ignore me?
BRAIXEN
(Accusingly)
That's what you did to me.
DEWOTT
Y-yeah. And I'm...
Braixen turns towards Kayla, expecting an apology.
DEWOTT
...I'm not proud of myself.
A pause.
braixen
That's it?
Kayla is confused.
BRAIXEN
I thought there was something you wanted to... y'know... say to me after you left me to die in a river.
DEWOTT
I guess so, yeah. I'm... I'm really... ssssss--... ssssssssssss--...
BRAIXEN
Kayla, don't pretend to be an Ekans.
DEwOTT
I'm not! Really, I'm sssssss...orrrrrr...owful?
BRAIXEN
I'd hope you're sorrowful.
DEWOTT
I'm sorry!
BRAIXEN
(Sighs)
That's a bit better.
