EXT. KANA CANYON - MORNING

Lucario, Exploud, Braixen, and Kayla stand at Haxorus's feet as he lifts Treecko up into the air.

BRAIXEN

Treecko?!

HAXORUS

(Laughs)

Well, would you look at this... A little baby...

(Tugs at Treecko's tail)

How cute.

EXPLOUD

PUT THE KID DOWN!

DEWOTT

(Getting an idea)

Exploud, get ready to catch us!

EXPLOUD

HUH?

Kayla leaps up and uses Aqua Jet to fly up to Haxorus. She grabs onto Haxorus's spherical necklace and swings from it.

DEWOTT

(Exhausted)

Gotta... get... on top!

As Dewott struggles to climb up to the top of the necklace, Haxorus swings Treecko back and forth. Kayla loses her balance and almost falls, but she grabs back on and keeps climbing.

HAXORUS

What a nice, big tail you've got...

Kayla manages to pull herself up and is now kneeling on top of Haxorus's necklace. She looks down through one of the holes.

KAYLA'S POV: A small, grey and pink Pokemon is sitting inside of the sphere, crying.

DEWOTT (V.O.)

(Thinking)

That must be Meditite! Now I've gotta get him out...

Kayla takes a better look at the huge sphere. It's a hollow metal ball, connected to the chain by a smaller metal circle attacked to a plate on the top of the sphere.

DEWOTT

How am I supposed to open this...?

(Looks closely at the circle)

What if...

Trying not to fall off, Kayla grabs hold of the metal circle connected to the chain and begins twisting it, slowly but surely.

DEWOTT

(Yells down to her allies)

It's loosening up!

LUCARIO

What is?

DEWOTT

The necklace! Meditite is inside!

HAXORUS

(Noticing Dewott)

Hey, what are you doing?

Haxorus reaches for Kayla with his free hand, ready to shove her off the necklace. Panicking, Kayla lets go of the circle and leaps towards Treecko. She manages to grab hold of his leg.

TREECKO

H-help!

DEWOTT

I'm trying! We need to get down!

HAXORUS

Aren't you interested in spending some quality time with the King of Chaos, though?

(Dangles Kayla and Treecko in front of his face)
