Old Friends

"What are you doing here?" I said with no hesitation, looking at Jules straight in the eyes. "Get out" I began to play with my fingers, fidgeting carelessly.

"Sky-"

"Get out!" I snapped, and this time she jumped back startled. I felt bad, but I never wanted to see her. My best friend had made out with my ex-boyfriend, and she was the one who always told me to break up with him.

"No!" She snapped back, with teary eyes. "You have to listen to me. Let me explain"

"Then explain!" I shouted back, "explain how you slept with Kayden, and left me! Explain Jules!" A tear slid down my left cheek, and I rubbed it away fast. No pain,

"I-i.. I" she stuttered as she tried to wipe the tears rolling down her cheeks.

"Sky-" Miles came in, and was shocked to see Jules.

I felt like stabbing myself, I feel pain. I hate feeling like this, I hate making my bestfriend cry like this.

"I'm sorry," were her last words before she pushed Miles away and ran outta of the room.

Tears streamed down my face, as I bit on my bottom lip feeling my teeth dig deeper to help me from screaming. Miles ran and pulled me inside his arms, and I broke down harder and louder.

"Shhh," he whispered. "Everything will work out" he pressed his lips on my forehead and blew a kiss.

"Umm...sir" a doctor walked in, worry in his eyes. "can I talk to you in private. We found out some... bad news, I'm sorry we didn't find out sooner"

"Uhh yeah, we'll go outside" Miles said, giving me a sympathetic smile. "We'll be right back Angel" I smiled at his choice of words, before they left.

The nurse had brought in some lunch, that I forgot to eat.

"Hope it'll be better cold," I murmured sliding the table above me. There was a packet of Jell-O, a bottle of water, an apple and ham and cheese sandwich.

I let out a sour face, and when the nurse looked at me I quickly changed it to a 'yummy' face.

The fake blonde nurse just glared.

Miles' POV

"What did you find out?" I asked, my heart beating faster than usual.

He gave me a sympathetic smile, and I held my breath "it appears Skylar was diagnosed with cancer... before. We discovered this because we called St Louis' Hospital, they have all the records of the patients and every hospital they've been to. Miles... Skylar has cancer, last time it slipped out of her system which was very... unusual and rare but after doing a blood test...."

"I'm sorry" were his last words before I let out my breath, and breathed the fresh oxygen outside.

"I've got to go,"
