CASSIDY HADN'T MOVED FROM HER SPOT BESIDES KIE and her eyes were tied to the ever lowering, organge smolder of the fire. She didn't know why she was here still, or why she hadn't left when Rafe had begged her to come with them, but it had happened. She had made her choice.

Kiara had her hand on the small of her back, the circular motion having stopped the tremble that had attacked her body after the actions of earlier. The brunette girl would never admit it, but she was painfully happy that Cassidy had finally chosen her over Sarah, even if she knew it wasn't her that she had meant to choose.

In fact, the sole reason that she had chosen to stay for was pacing back and forth infront of John B, the gun held limply in his hand as Pope stared at him with disgust. He shoved himself off of the log he was sat on and grabbed JJ's arm, ceasing him from the movement.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" He finally snapped, glaring at him as JJ raised his eyes brows with shock at the words. He didn't know why everyone was so mad at him and he certainly didn't know why Cassidy was refusing to look him in the face when that was all he craved for her to do.

"He was going to kill John B," JJ defended himself loudly, the gun falling to the sand as he straightened his posture with agitation. He noticed how Pope rolled his eyes and glanced over to the mute blonde besides their friend, his attention snapping right back to the boy infront of him.

"You sure it wasn't because of her? What is she even doing here? Huh? You know damn well that she's gonna run right to the cops when she gets home—"

Kiara was on her feet now, her anger flaring at the pure audacity that Pope held within him to attack a girl who had done nothing to them. "She wouldn't do that!"

She shoved JJ to the side and took his stance infront of Pope with eyes ablaze with anger. He had no right to try and pin Cassidy Blaire out to be this monster; he hadn't know her before and he sure as hell didn't know her well enough to do so now.

Pope laughed ironically at the fact that his friends were even trying to defend the stuckup girl, even despite the fact that her closest friends had nearly killed their own bestfriend. He didn't know why everyone was suddenly so obsessed with the idea of her ever being one of them.

"Kie, she dropped you like nothing. And JJ, you guys had sex once—"

Pope choked on his words as JJ shoved him with all his might, his body flying through the air before he hit the sand and rolled. He was up in a flash and ready to retaliate just as Cassidy leaned over and the contents of her stomach emptied infront of her.

His anger subsided into guilt as she vomited once again and JJ instantly was at her side, his hands working as quickly as they could to gather her hair up and away from her face. He pulled her into his chest when she was done, his arms wrapped around her in declared protection as he dared Pope to continue his attack on her.
