JJ'S DUG THROUGH JOHN B'S CABINETS with amazement at the plethora of food that was hidden in them. He hadn't ever seen them so filled in his entire life, the sight of food giving him a much needed mood boost after he'd essentially been booted out of Cassidy's bed far too early.

He snatched a bag of chips and shoved open the door to the chateau with a childlike grin. His friends shook their heads at the boy and his love for food, Kiara soft laughing in her elbow before she coughed, "Fat Ass," and shrieked as he sent his foot towards her chair.

He fell into his own seat and waited for John B to finally join them, the boy having yet to even leave his room despite the fact that all his friends were growing increasingly impatient at his lack of presence within their group.

John B finally made his way outside and rolled his eyes as JJ threw rocks into the yard to cure his boredom. "Look, I'm calling it off. Okay?" He finally admitted what had been plaguing his mind since Peterkins visit, his friends looking at him with shock. He had never been the type to miss out on the chance of an adventure and there was no reason for him to start that now.

"Peterkins said if I say out of the marsh, she'll help me with DCS."

JJ scoffed at his words and paused his one sided catch, his hands falling down to his lap. "And you believed her?" He talked angrily like it was the most ridiculous thing he'd ever heard in his life, and it was, to him, at least. "Yes, I believe her, JJ."

"An actual cop, John B. You believed a cop."

"All I gotta do is stay out of the marsh for a couple days, she'll help me out. It does help that your ass was the one shooting a gun," John B's voice was much louder now and he swatted an empty can to the ground, his arms moving to exaggerate his words enough to get through JJ's head.

"You know what I should have done? Just let Topper drown your ass," JJ scoffed, his anger easily directed at John B because he was there. He always was no matter what he could say to make him leave and that was the biggest reliever he had.

"Topper was gonna drown me?"

"Sure looked like it," JJ snorted, picking up his previous sport of the rock throwing to cure his boredom once again. "Funny," John B didn't bother bother to hide his disagreement but JJ wasn't done, hopping to his feet as it began to escalate.

"Have you looked in the mirror?"

John B was just as angry as he was now, urging him with snide comments to push and push until JJ finally snapped. That was usually how it went, John B kept his cool until he couldn't handle it anymore and JJ got to let his anger out for that day, good for the rest of the time.
