HER JAW ACHED SOMETHING AWFUL THE MOMENT HER EYES OPENED and Cass brought a hand up to tenderly rub her face. She squinted, her head pounding the moment that she was exposed to light and it felt as if her whole body was giving up on her one limb at a time.

She rolled over and groaned, sitting in the hunched position for a second as she waited for the nausea to subside, her hand holding her stomach as her head continued to mimick the feeling of a balloon on the verge of popping. Putting it lightly, Cassidy felt like she dying and there was no hangover in the past that came close to one she was currently going through.

Her attention fell to the small piece of paper besides her bed and she picked it up with tender fingers, her eyes running over the words before she groaned and set it back down. She was thankful that Rafe had disappeared before she had woken up, her mind running the events, or at least what little of them that she remembered, from the night prior.

Cass couldn't help but giggle as she and Rafe stumbled out of Topper's front door, his arm tossed over her shoulders as they tried their best to walk down the driveway. She was far too drunk to even stand, let alone try to make it to her house by herself and so Rafe had taken it upon himself to accompany her. He would've done it regardless, even if she hadn't touched a drop of alcohol that night.

"Cass, you're going the wrong way," Rafe groaned as they staggered down the street in an awkward embrace, the boy using the girl besides him as a crutch to keep him from falling to the pavement. He had never been so drunk in his entire life and he knew that the cocaine they had demolished was doing nothing to help his case.

"I-I swear this is the right way," Cass couldn't help but giggle as she heard her own voice. Her laughter was mimicked by the boy besides her as he shook his head. "No way, Cass. This ain't the way—"

She brought her finger up to his lips and attempted to silence him, a small gasp leaving her lips as he knocked the hand away from his face. He cocked his head and then widened his eyes when he realized that she had actually taken them the right way, her house finally coming into view.

Rafe stumbled momentarily and Cass shrieked as she attempted to pull him up to no avail. He was able to break the fall with his hands and he shoved himself back to his feet before he turned to look at her with a small smirk. "Your dad's truck isn't here ."

Cass peered behind him and nodded as she realized he was right, her lips pulling into a small smirk. She wasn't thinking clearly and they both knew that, but in that moment, she also knew exactly what she wanted and she wasn't going to let anyone talk her out of it.

"So let's go," She tugged him forward and they made their way up the stairs as Cass unlocked they front door, shushing him loudly as he pulled back in confusion. "Why are we being quiet—" His brain went static as she turned around and pressed her lips to his. She pulled back after a moment and stood there like the kiss had been the answer and, to Rafe, it had been.
