CHAPTER XXVIII —
ATTITUDE PROBLEMS.
THREE MONTHS PRIOR.CASSIDY CURLED UP ON SARAH'S LAP, HER HEAD THROWN BACK IN LAUGHTER AT something Kelce had said across the room. She was decently drunk, a red solo cup clutched in her hand that had continuously been refilled the second it came close to being empty.
"So... When do we get to take The Druther's out to play?" Cassidy asked her friend, her chin leant against her hand as Sarah rolled her eyes. "You know that Ward would never let that happen," she chided, sipping from her cup of water as Cassidy laughed softly.
"Oh, please. If I bat my eyelashes, Ward will hand those keys over without a second thought," she bragged. Cassidy knew just how much the Cameron's adored her and it had never ceased to be a game to her.
"Woah, Cass. Father and son?"
Kelce gave her wide eyes, a smile cracking over his face as Cassidy choked on her drink and gave him a glare. "Neither," she spat, downing the rest of her cup as she held it out carelessly for one of the other boys to refill.
"Cmon, you know that Rafe has been trying to hit that since day one—"
"Rafe is a pig," Cassidy shrugged, her eyes locking onto the very boy they spoke of as he sent a wink her way. "Oink Oink," he agreed, the smirk that never left his lips only increasing her agitation.
"My point exactly. Who knows where your mouth has been."
Rafe laughed loudly and stood up, dropping into the empty spot besides her and his sister. He wrapped his arms around the underneath her legs, pulling them over his lap as she glared.
"I can't tell you where it's been but I can tell you where I want it," he whispered, leaning in with a small smile. Cassidy leaned forward as well and then snatched Sarah's water, pouring it over his head with a small pout.
"Oops."
The boy instantly shoved her legs off of him and stood, his face red and his mouth pulled in a scowl. Cassidy knew that he would never have the nerve to retaliate back against her and that's what made it so much fun to her.
Kelce covered his mouth to hide his laughter unlike Sarah who simply laughed aloud. She always found it the most humorous when Cassidy put her brother in his place.
"You should go change," Cassidy told him, her tone bored and her attention back on her friends. She didn't bother to watch him stalk away, simply stood up and made her way to the kitchen where Topper clutched a bottle of Greygoose in his hand.
