Chapter 1

Kairi walked into the kitchen, his hair sticking in all directions. He tried to smooth it down while grabbing a granola bar off the counter.

K: Hey mom, can I go to Mattia's today?

Kairi's mom gave him an interesting look. Kairi knew exactly what she was about to say and as he rolled his eyes she spoke.

KM: Mattia? The one that you like-

K: Nooooo mommmmm, We're just friends, besides, I'm not gay.

KM: When are you going to stop denying yourself Kairi?

K: mama, I'm not gay.

Kairi's mother rolled her eyes and sighed.

KM: Kairi, I know you better than you know yourself. I know that you've liked men since you were ten years old. Why don't you want to be happy? You could be happy with Mattia.

K: Mattia's not gay. He doesn't even like gay people.

Kairi wasn't sure what Mattia's views were about the LGTBQ+ community; he had never expressed a dislike but Kairi could risk outing himself if it could possibly destroy their friendship.

KM: So you don't want to admit your feelings because you are worried that you will be rejected by the one you like.

K: I didn't say that, stop putting words in my mouth.

Kairi was getting frustrated at this point. He was definitely confused about his sexuality but he couldn't be gay, it might mean that all of his friends would drop him. Kairi's mom sighed and gave him a small smile.

KM: Ok Kairi. I'm sorry. Just remember that you can tell me anything.

K: Can I go to Mattia's or not?

KM: Of course.

Kairi quickly ran out of the house, calling a quick "Love you" over his shoulder. As he walked to Mattia's house he thought about his mother's words. He wasn't gay. Sure he didn't have much interest in girls but that didn't mean that he was into Mattia. Mattia wasn't bad looking though; with his height and his fluffy hair, golden skin and his beautiful brown eyes. His personality though, that was what tied it all together-

Stop.

Kairi forced himself to stop thinking about Mattia. Thinking to himself, he would probably think I'm disgusting if he thought I was gay. But I'm not gay so it doesn't matter anyway. Kairi was so lost in his mind that he didn't realize that he had almost walked right past Mattia's house. He shook off his thoughts and walked up to Mattia's house knocking on the door.

Mattia answered the door with a grin on his face.

M: Took you long enough.

Kairi rolled his eyes and playfully shoved Mattia

K: Shut up stupid, I had to walk all the way here.

Kairi followed Mattia up the stairs to his room where Alejandro was already lying on Mattia's bed.

Ale: Sup Kai

K: Hey Ale

The three boys didn't do much the entire day. They just sat around on their phones, occasionally showing each other a funny video they had seen. Alvaro had shown up sometime during the day and he was now bored and pestering the other boys.

Alv: Can we do somethingggggg

M: Like what?

Alv: I don't know.

Ale: Ooh, let's play truth or dare.

K: Why that? What are we, six?

Kairi was nervous, a lot of things could happen in a game of truth or dare and he didn't really want to play.
