Two Days Later....

Kairi sat down in front of his mother's grave. He had asked Mattia to take him to the cemetery and now Mattia was waiting in the car while Kairi sat on the grass, staring at his mother's head stone.

K: Hey mama. I need to talk to you. I know you can hear me so I'm just gonna go for it.

Kairi started talking, explaining everything that had happened since she had died. He told her about Ryan and about how Mattia's parents had reacted when they came out. By the time Kairi neared the end of his rant, he had tear tracks running down his face.

K: And he said he wants to marry me one day mama. Remember when I used to tell you that we were just friends. Now look where we are.

Kairi chuckled, a small smile on his lips as he thought about when he told his mom that Mattia had kissed him and how happy she was for him. He wiped his eyes on his sleeve while he played with a piece of grass.

K: I miss you mom. I miss you so much. You always knew exactly what to do and without you I just feel so lost in life. I never know what to do or say, but I'm trying, I really am mom. And Mattia's helping, he's really great. He thinks that he's not doing enough but he's trying so hard to make me feel better.

So why can't I feel better then.

Kairi looked up at the sky, trying to hold back the fresh tears that were threatening to spill out of his eyes.

K: I'm not going to lie mom, sometimes I want to die. I really do, because then I could come and be with you, and then all the pain would stop, and it would be so much better. But I can't, I have to stay here for Mattia, and myself I guess. But it's hard to get through the days. I don't know mama. I'm just scared of living my life without you in it.

Kairi sat for a little while longer, staring at his mother's headstone before he slowly stood up. He rested his hand on his mother's headstone.

K: Anata o hontoni aishiteimasu. I'll come visit again soon mama.

Kairi turned and walked back to Mattia's car, feeling only slightly better.
