chapter 1

"Wake your lazy ass up! We're going to be late!" I jump up looking at the clock on my nightstand."Shit!" I say ripping the blankets off me and grabbing a pair of black skinnies and a misfits tee and run to the bathroom. I get dressed and do my makeup. I don't have time to straighten my hair so I left it naturally curly. I threw on my vans and run down the stairs. This is typical me sleeping through my alarm. Hi I'm Alison. Let me tell you a bit about me. I'm 18 years old and work at my favorite store, Hot Topic. I'm very shy and awkward till you get to know me. I'm short with brown eyes and brown hair, nothing special. I'm not what you would call the perkiest person in the morning but it's the first day of summer and I promised myself that this was going to be a summer that I never forget, but I woke up late for work again which is why my roommate screamed at me. She is also my best friend. We just graduated High school and I am so glad to get out of that hell hole. I grab my keys and walk into the kitchen to find Lily sitting on her phone waiting for me. "Ready?" "God you got ready fast, Why are you so perky this morning?" she asked walking out the door. We walk to my car and get in. "I don't really know I just feel that today is going to be a great day." I said while smiling. "I'm glad after last month I thought I would never see you be happy again." I stop smiling. Last month was a terrible time for me. I was thrown out of my family and my "boyfriend" of 3 years was cheating on me with my cousin. Me and her were like sisters and when I confronted them about it they denied it. I wasn't sad that he broke up with me and I actually feel bad for my cousin, he was very abusive and made me feel like complete shit. I was falling apart and then Lily took me in. She has been my best friend since we were 3. She is basically like a sister to me. After we graduated we bought a house and thanks to our friend Zack we got jobs at Hot Topic. We pulled up to the mall and walked into the store. Zack was smiling like a creep at us and I new something was up."Hey Zack. You alright?" I ask walking over to him. "You guys are going to love me." is all he says. Me and Lily wait for him to finish. "Why?" Lily asks."Well, sometimes bands come in asking for people to sell merch for them. A few bands came in today asking if I had two people that would be interested and I told them I had the perfect girls for them." He says still smiling. "So what does that mean?" Lily asks. "It means that you guys are going to be working for a few bands for Warped, you leave in a week! You can love me now." he says still smirking. We tackle him in a hug."Thank You! Thank You so much Zack! I have been wanting to work at Warped for as long as I can remember." I say. "We won't let you down." Lily says. " Just remember that this is a job not a vacation. You guys are going to be jumping back and forth between a couple of bands so it's going to be a lot of work." he warns."What bands would we be working with?" Lily asks ignoring Zack. "Falling in reverse, All Time Low, Motionless In White, and Black Veil Brides." I love all of them so I'm really excited. I can't imagine a better way to spend my summer and start over, maybe this is exactly what we need. "Oh, I almost forgot, a few of the guys are coming by to talk to you guys. They'll be here any minute."Just as he says that I look at Lily's face and her mouth is wide open. "Lil?" I ask as I turn to see what she is gawking at. I turn and see Andy Biersack and Ronnie Radke standing in the door. She snaps out of her daze and waves to them. They start to walk towards us. "Hey are you Zack?" Andy asks putting his hand out. " Yeah, It's great to meet you. You were my idol growing up." He says shaking his hand. He looks over at us. "And you two are?" Lily smiles and shakes his hand. "I'm Lily and that's Alison." She says pointing at me I wave awkwardly. " She's a bit shy around new people, we're the merch girls for the summer." She says while smiling. She has always liked Andy. "Wait Zack... you didn't say they were cute." he says with a wink. Lily starts blushing and I look down at the floor. OK, Andy fucking Biersack just called us cute....best day ever! "Well, I'm going to go clean up before we open. Feel free to stay as long as you like." Zack says. Lily and Andy struck up a conversation about who knows what so I walk away to give them some alone time. Ronnie was talking with Zack so I decided to go organize the shirts. I glanced at Andy and Lily and could see she is blushing like crazy. I see a tall figure out of the corner of my eye enter the store and walk over to Zack. It must be a friend of his. Lily runs over to me scaring the shit out of me. " Guess what?" she asks grinning ear to ear. "What besides the fact that you scared the shit out of me." I say. She just rolls her eyes and continues, " Andy just asked for my number and he's coming by the house later to hang out and talk about Warped." she say bouncing up and down like a nut. She is so bubbly I can't help but laugh. Like they say, every brunette needs a redheaded friend or nothing fun would happen and it's true. She deserves someone like Andy, not any the assholes around here. I think they would be cute together. "I'm happy for you Lil. Did Zack say anything about what bus we stay on?" "No but I asked Andy and he said we get to choose. He is so great Ali you have to come talk to him." she says with a pleading look in her eyes. "I'll talk to him more when he's at the house." I say. It's not that I don't want to talk to him but I just don't want to embarrass myself in front of one of my idols. "OK, By the way there someone here your going to want to meet. I'm going to show Andy around the mall, I'll be back." she says as she bounces over to Andy and pulls him by his hand out the door. The guy from earlier was now looking at some shirts so I went to see if he needed any help. "Hey welcome to Hot Topic can I help you find anything?"I ask. The guy turns around and I realize it's not just a guy...it's Chris Cerulli from Motionless in White. " Yeah actually, would you happen to know a Alison that works here and if she's here right now." He asks and I can't speak, I stand there frozen. Chris Motionless just said my name."y-y-Yeah, I'm Alison." I finally manage to say. "Oh, cool. I already met Lily and she told me you were a fan so I thought I would come say hi."He says smiling. "Well, it's great to meet you."I say starstruck. "Yeah same to you. Would you want to go get lunch with me, I'm starving." he asks. "Sure! let me go tell my manager I'm leaving." I say trying not to sound too excited. I go to tell Zack but he's still talking to Ronnie about Tour. We walk in silence for a little until we get to the food court. We both get our food and decide to play 50 questions. It turns out we have a lot in common. "What's your favorite food?" I ask running out of questions. " Wings." he says. I look at my phone and see that we've been talking for 2 hours. " We should probably start heading back now." I say. I didn't want to but Zack would kill me and I don't want to get fired. "OK but before we do, can I get your number so we can talk about tour." He asks. He kinda looked nervous, but it was probably me just seeing things. "Yeah! Give me your phone and I'll put it in." I say. He smiled and handed me his phone. I put my number in and gave it back to him. He started texting and a few seconds later my phone went off. It was a message from an unknown number. "I'm guessing this is you?" I ask. "I had to make sure it wasn't a fake number." he says smirking."Why would I give you a fake number?" "I don't know. It could happen." he says and I just roll my eyes. We start to walk back and I can't help but smile, I mean I'm walking with one of my favorite band members. "So Andy is coming over to mine and Lily's house after our shift to talk about Warped, you can come by if you want." I say looking at the ground. "Sure. sounds good." he says. I can't help but smile. I don't know why but I can't not smile when I'm with him. I'm usually shy and awkward around people but I act like I would with Lily when I'm around him. We laugh, he tells me a few stories from his past shows and we joke around a little bit. "You seem like a cool girl and someone I would get along with." He says. "Thanks, you're nothing like I thought you would be." I say smiling. He looked at me confused. "Your more down to earth. You're easy to talk to, funny and attracti-" I stop talking and look directly at the ground. I wasn't supposed to say that last part. He started laughing. " You find me attractive?" he asked. "What? bssh....no." I said looking away.  "Are you blushing?" he asks as he tries to get me to look at him. "What...no..." I say trying to hide my face behind my hair. "Aww. you're cute." he says moving my hair out of my face. I was definitely blushing now. "It's ok, I know I'm hot."he says smirking. "Keep telling yourself that." I say. We walked back into the store and Zack was talking to Andy while Lily sat on the counter. "Hey where did you disappear to?" she asks then she sees Chris behind me . She just smiles at him and mouths "We'll talk later." Oh, I can't wait.
