Mr Adetoun's POV

"Oh, what do I do now? I love my daughter, she's the best thing that has ever happened to me." I said

''But are you ready to let go every what you grandfather's toiled for?" my subconscious mind asked

"But what about my daughter? I don't want to fail her" I countered

''Don't you think that is what you're already doing? Besides, that man likes your daughter and many fathers will be happy to have such opportunity" my subconscious mind answered

"But not at the expense of my daughter's happiness" I said

"Keep deceiving yourself. Don't you see that she likes him too? All she needs is just a little push" it said

"But nothing seems little about the situation on ground" I screamed in my head

''Or you fail to see it? I rest my case''

My beautiful wife entered with a smile which immediately turned to a frown when she saw my face.

"Honey what is it? Please talk to me. We both know this merger calls for celebration but you don't look happy" she asked with concern

"Because I'm not. Shindara, I'm done for. All the years of our hard labour has gone to waste" I replied with tears in my eyes

"My husband, please talk to me. Let's think things true and settle things together. Remember, a problem shared is half solved" she said with concern

After narrating what happened...

"Eh, won ma gba. My darling, next level ya. This is good news o, though I don't understand why you're crying." she said with all smiles and started dancing

"Onigele yi
Ske ske le
Sko sko lo
En, ske ske le
Sko sko lo" (yoruba song)

"Which stupid dance are you dancing, you this woman? Your daughter's life is at stake and you're happy" I shouted at her with anger

"My Crown, calm down" she said with a soothing voice while rubbing my chest, while she started plastering my face with kisses

(Oh, this woman knows how to get me)

"Let's talk to her first and I know she'll agree. I know you love her and I love her too but sometimes we just have to make the best decision for her. She's still our child after all" She said with smile.

"Thank you my love" I said to her as I kissed her forehead.

You might be wondering what's our story....

Our marriage was an arranged one by our parents. Shindara caught the man she loved cheating on her with her best friend. Though, she had been hearing the rumour but she trusted both of them. Who would blame her, the guy and her best friend hate each other, always bickering at each other when they're together. She went into depression and almost committed suicide by overdose but luckily her younger sister chose that moment to check up on her. She was quickly rushed to the hospital and when she got better, she went for therapy.

Few years later, when her parents realized that she's not ready to move on, they arranged our marriage with my parents since they're both business partners and friends. It wasn't easy getting married to someone who had already lost hope on love but here we are today. I've had a crush on her since we're little but couldn't find the courage to tell her about my feelings since I was an introvert and she was this social type, that loves to explore and is not afraid of what comes their way.

On our one year wedding anniversary, I had to confess how I truly feel about her. I was supposed to finish a business meeting late, but luckily, I finished very early and I decided to go shop for her and probably take her out for dinner. On getting home and entering our bedroom, she was already standing on the stool, ready to take up her own little. It wasn't easy convincing her, but I'm glad she gave herself another chance to make things right. Well, here we are today.

"Ade mi (my crown), what are you thinking? You've completely zoned out" she asked with worry

"How we scaled through despite the challenges" I replied with a smile.

"Thanks for not giving up on me" she said and briefly kiss me on the lips.

"So, what would you like to eat honey?"she asked

"My queen, don't stress yourself. Just shower and relax, I'll prepare something for us" I told her with a smile.

"You're the best" she said as she hugged me.

I left our room which is the master bedroom and went into the kitchen after informing the cook to excuse me from the kitchen for the rest of the day.
But no matter how much I tried not to, I still keep thinking how to address and present the issue. I know my wife said she got it covered but I'm still worried for my baby girl. My wife can be a bit daring sometimes and since she's the strict one between us I just leave her to her responsibility.

"What If Dara refuse to get married to him?"

"What if she ran away from home? Oh, I won't forgive myself"

"What will happen If the Company go down?''

All this keeps running in my mind as I prepare dinner and I decided to call her to come over to the house, after I'm done cooking.
