Mr Adetoun's POV

I was working on some files when Raymond's call came in, shouting that my daughter, Bisade came to embarrass him in his office, so he needs to get married to Darasimi asap or the deal is off. I knew he wasn't joking with the way he sounded on the phone so I quickly put a call through my wife.

"How are you dear?" I asked immediately she picked up

"I'm fine oko mi (my husband). This one that you called me when you left home not quite long. Hope no problem?" she asked

Oh, she knew me so well and I guess I'm used to her being a straight-forward person. If you need her help with something, you better don't start telling stories or she'll tell you point and blank to just tell her what you need. If at that point you're still telling stories, she'll ask you to go home and come back when you know exactly what you want. People believes she's strict including our daughter but the truth is, she's not. She's one of the most considerate person I know.  Let's just say she's a bit disciplined and doesn't joke with time.

"Can't I call my wife again?" I asked and then continued,
"Well... I missed you"

"I didn't say that and you know it. So spill baba Dara (Dara's dad)" she replied

"You're such a joy killer" I said with a sigh

"Yeah yeah... Don't worry the joy killer will prepare your dinner. But to be serious oko mi what happened?" She asked

I narrated the phone conversation I had with Raymond to her...

"My husband, that young man likes our daughter. If not he would have fallen into the arms of Bisade like Samson"

"When did you start telling Bible stories?" I asked with a smile

"Leave that one aside oko mi (my husband). But to be candid, I told you that girl is manipulative even when she was little but you wouldn't listen. I hope I wouldn't say I TOLD YOU SO!"

"My love don't say that, Bisade is also our daughter"

"Your daughter Adetoun and not mine. I only gave birth to one child and that is Darasimi." She snapped and then continued,

" Didn't I tell you how one cloth is always missing when I started buying them the same clothes. It's either Dara or Bisade's own that'll disappear depending on whether she likes the cloth or not. I thought Dara was the culprit until I saw Bisade cutting one of the clothes I bought for them with scissors and then putting it away in the trash bin.

When I realized that the cloth was indeed missing, I called the both of them together and then separately to ask how the cloth got missing, she denied oko mi (my husband). She even had the nerve to lie that she saw Dara cutting the cloth with scissors the other day. But then when I told you about it you thought I hated her because she wasn't my biological child, forgetting the fact that I have two orphanages I cater for at that time, who I love because they were practically my children." She explained

I didn't see it that way then because I was always stressed about the company. I guess my priorities wasn't right at that time.

I sighed and tried to explain to her, " I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention to our family then but honey, Omo eni ki buru titi kale f'ekun paje"

Translation: One's child doesn't get spoilt to the extent that we leave him or her to be destroyed without remedy

"Oko mi (my husband), there's no point arguing over this matter. She's your child and not mine. I don't hate her and the fact that I raised her doesn't practically make me her mum. I know she has many dark secrets but it's not in my place to dig them up unless she crosses the line. This call is about Darasimi, so let's talk about her." She changed the subject and I know better than to continue it...

"Dear, I need you to help me talk to Dara. Make her see why we're doing this" I plead

"But my love, you know you're the only one she listens to and besides she's your daughter so you have the right to make her marry whoever you wishes but I'll talk to her anyways"

"Thanks and please find out why she hasn't been to the office since Tuesday"

"Baba Dara when did you become like this? Your daughter, our daughter hasn't been to work and you're just telling me. What if something happens to her? Is this Contract worth losing your daughter?" She snapped

"I wanted to call her but it escaped my mind." I tried to find an excuse even though I knew it wouldn't work on her

"You know that's not an excuse. We're talking about your daughter!" She wailed

"Ah em, I have to go now. See you at home" I said to her in order to escape her wrath

"Keep running as if you won't come home and meet me here" she said

"Woman, let me get home first. Bye" I said with a chuckle

"Bye and take care" she replied with a smile and hanged up

Mrs Adetoun's POV

I know my husband is very worried about our daughter and at the same time he doesn't want to loose the contract since we took a loan for it and will have to repay the bank. But how could he be calm when he didn't see or hear from her since Tuesday, the week is gone already for Heaven's sake!

But on a more serious note, Dara is getting married to that young man whether she likes it or not but for the sake of my husband, I'll talk to her. I love my daughter but she's too stubborn for her good especially since she became a Christian. Calling the young man an unbeliever, as if she wasn't one before. If Sarah her friend doesn't want to be unequally yoked with an unbeliever as she puts it, will she become a Christian? Also if her father and I didn't give birth to her, will she get the chance of meeting Sarah and then become a believer? I doubt that. Only the Creator knows what they teach them in those churches.

But how dare Bisade try to seduce the man her sister was supposed marry!!! I raised her well more than that. I thought the childish acts would have been long gone, but I guess I thought wrong.

"Maybe you should hire someone to trail her and find out what she's up to" my subconscious mind advised

"She wouldn't hurt Darasimi or will she?" I asked myself

"Well, you can never tell with people who are manipulative"

I picked up my phone and put a call through my PA ( Personal Assistant) to get me a private investigator. I don't joke with my daughter o, before you get to her you'll have to go through me first.
