Dara's POV

I couldn't go to the office for the rest of the week because I had a lot on my mind which dropped my zeal to work this week. So Sarah brought the files that needed my utmost attention home and she attended to every other thing. Thank God for the blessing of her, she has been a wonderful person to me both as a personal assistant and also as a friend and I know God will repay her bountifully well.

She has been sleeping with me since that day and has made the visitor's bedroom her personal space within few days.

I was meditating on the Scriptures Pastor's wife gave me when a call came through on my phone. When I realized it was mum's call I contemplated on picking it or not which I later did. After all they're my parents and no matter what happens, they'll forever be called my parents.

"Hi mum"

"Honey, you were taking forever to pick up my call and you don't have to sound excited to talk to me because we both know you're not. Okay? So, how is my baby girl doing?" She asked

"Mum, to be sincere I feel like I've been run over by a caterpillar" I replied with a sigh

"Hmm, my dear this is just another phase of your life you have to scale through. I believe in you and I know that you're a strong woman, all you have to do is to believe in yourself."

"But mum it's not easy as you think"

"Nothing is easy in this world my dear. If all things is been given to us on a platter of gold, we won't know the value of hard work and sincerity"

"We're talking about an issue of a lifetime here mum and besides whose side are you on?" I asked

"You should know by now that I'll forever be on my husband's side. Darasimi, you're my daughter and I love you. Well you're old enough to make your own decisions but we're still your parents and we want the best for you. Even though I don't know what'll be your decision on this but I want you to be very sure of something that you're marrying that young man. You know I'm a woman of my words."

"Dad asked you to call me right in order to know what's going on in my head and probably change my mind? But mum, you know you're not doing a good job at convincing me sha" I said with a chuckle

"See this young woman, we're talking about your destiny and you're here been sarcastic"

"I hear you ma but you should know that my destiny has already been authorized by God and no man can change His plans."

"Iwo lomo o (You're the only one that knows). Anyways, hope you're fine? I heard you've not been to the office since Tuesday"

"Mum just say it, dad wanted to know why I haven't been in the office. Besides why the sudden care? I thought he wanted to disown me. Has he forgotten how he shouted at Sarah the last time I went to Raymond's company?"

"If anyone should hear you now, they'll think I'm a bad mother but wait o, your father my husband shouted at Sarah on your account? He didn't tell me that..."

"Why would he tell his precious wife that?"

"Stop being sarcastic. You sound like a jealous wife. I'm sorry on his behalf but you should know that we really need the contract or has Christ taken your conscience away?"

"A contract in exchange for my lifetime happiness?"

"Oh my dear, no one can take your happiness away. In the midst of all this you just have to make yourself happy"

"Mum, like seriously??? You guys are basically selling me off and you're saying I should make myself happy, when it's that same happiness you're stripping off me."

"My child, stop portraying us as bad parents now"

"I never said you're one mum"

"Anyways, extend my apology to Sarah. That girl is such a wonderful child."

"Ok mum"

"Oh, before I forget. Please be careful around that cameleon you call a sister" she warned

"You mean Bisade?" I asked

"Yes or do you have any other little sister i know nothing about?"

(I wonder why everyone is warning me to beware of Bisade)

"Honey, I really have to go now. Take care of yourself and I love you" she said and blew me a kiss

"I love you too mum" I replied and hanged up

Wow, it's been a while mum and I had such an interesting talk. She's always a busy person and well, I am too. I checked the time on my phone and decided to go prepare something before Sarah comes back from work.

Hi everyone,

I'm late again on the posting. I'm really sorry. Thanks for accompanying me on the long ride.

But what do you really think about Bisade's parents? Is their selfish interest at the expense of their child's happiness good? Please share your thoughts in the comment box.

AND PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO VOTE AND SHARE WITH YOUR LOVED ONES

I LOVE YOU!!!
