Chapter Eighteen

Raymond's POV

One month later...

I came out of the bathroom after taking my bath and went into the closet to pick out one of my favorite suits to wear. Well if you're wondering, I don't even know why I'm this happy

"Oh, I remember now" I said as I take a final look at myself in the mirror before leaving my bedroom for the kitchen where I had my coffee before leaving the house. My driver greeted me and off we go to work.

On our way to the office I put a call through Mr Adetoun and informed him about the only possible solution to our dilemma

"You can't blame a man in love. A man has got to do what he has to do" I muttered

"Says the man or should I say a coward who refused to come out straight" my subconscious mind mocked

"I'm not having this conversation with you right now!"

"When will you ever be ready? You're a coward man"

"Blah blah blah..."

I called my secretary and and gave her the necessary instruction and to make sure that everything should be ready for my suprise for my future wifey. That alone brought a smile to my face.

"Bachelorhood, I'm gonna graduate from you soon"

"Why don't you just come out straight? Every lady likes a straight-forward man. A man that takes charge" my subconscious mind said

"Urrgh... You again?"

"Yes, it's me again. Just tell her that you love her. You don't have to keep blackmailing the poor girl with the contract"

"She wouldn't say yes to me" I sighed as I rubbed my forehead

"Why would she? Did you even understand all the heartaches you've caused her this past months which makes me wonder if it's truly love or obsession"

"Of course, it's love..."

"Oh, it is? I thought love is kind, patient, meek and all that... Where did you get your own definition of love from or you've taken a degree in Love which I know nothing about?"

"Urrgh, can you stop being sarcastic about this whole thing? You're giving me a headache"

"Am I being sarcastic? I don't think so. I'm just making you see reasons why you should be truthful to yourself and others"

"Whatever"

"There's nothing bad in trying and if she doesn't accept, you would know that you at least tried"

"So that stupid cousin of mine should take over the business? No way!"

"Wait a minute, is it love you're concerned about or position? Please don't tell me it's both"

"There's nothing bad in having both!" I snapped

"Calm down tiger. Besides did I say it's bad? It's just that the means you're using is not so reasonable even for a first class holder. Think about it, if she got married to you against her will. Will she be happy with you?"

"At least, I would know that I have her beside me. But don't worry we'll cross that bridge when we get there"

"Stop being delusional! Relationship is a two-way thing. Oh, you're such a jerk!"

"That makes us both a jerk" I replied arrogantly

"Your ego would get you nowhere and I'm quite sure I'll sing I TOLD YOU SO at last"

"Blah blah blah"

"Urrgh!!!"

Mr Adetoun's POV

I was having breakfast when a call came came through on my phone. On seeing who the caller is, I quickly picked it up and answered.

After the phone conversation, my wife looked at me with her eyebrows raised, asking what the call is all about, even though she didn't voice the question out.

"That was Raymond, he said he has a solution to our problem" I explained

"What problem is that? Are you sick? Honey why didn't you tell me, I'm your wife for crying out loud"

"Woman, I'm not sick!" I cut her off and continued,

"Can you please calm. He's onlytalking about the contract" I explained

"Oh, what's the solution though? Hope it wouldn't affect our relationship with my daughter?" she asked

Urrgh, women!!! I love my wife but she can be a bit handful sometimes. I narrated the whole plan to her and she smiled

"Wow, that young man is such a genius. While I've been racking my head for one these past few weeks, he provided one at such a time span" she said with a twinkle in her eyes

"Hmm hmm" I replied her with a nod as I continue my breakfast
