New School pt 1

You took a deep breath as you walked through the front doors of your new highschool. You scanned the crowd of loud obnoxious students for the only familiar face that you knew. A wave of relief rushed over you when you spotted her with a group of people by the lockers. You made a beeline towards her, trying not to run into the other students in the crowded hallway.
"Rey!" You said excitedly once you reached her. She turned towards you and her face brightened.
"Y/N!" She squealed pulling you into a hug. "I'm so glad you're here!"
"Me too!" You pulled away from her smiling. Rey turned to the people around her.
"Y/N, these are my friends," she gestured to them. "Finn, Rose, and Poe." The all waved to you.
"Guys this is my best friend from my other school, Y/N!" I waved to them sheepishly.
"Nice to meet you!" Rose said sweetly.
"It's great to meet you all." I replied.
"Hey, we were just comparing our schedules. Let me see yours?" Rey asked you holding out her hand for your schedule. You fished it out of your bag and handed it to her.
"Great! We all have lunch together guys! Y/N, you and I only have English and Science together, but Poe and you have quite a few together! It looks like Finn and Rose have a couple with you too." Rey explained. You nodded my head.
"Well, at least I won't be completely alone."
"Nah, we'll be here to help." Poe said throwing his arm around your shoulders. You blushed at the attractive man's actions.
"Thanks," you stuttered.
"So tell me a little about yourself Y/N. We gotta couple minutes before the bell rings." Poe said trying to start a conversation.
"Poe," Rey gave a threatening glare.
"What Rey? I'm just being nice." He raised his hands in surrender but had a smirk plastered on his face. Rey narrowed her eyes at him. Poe grinned in response. She turned to me.
"Poe and you both have your first class together. He'll take you, right Poe?"
"Of course my dear Rey. Y/N, you are in great hands." He took your hand and started swinging it back and forth like you were a little kid. He started to lead you down the hallway, rambling about random things the whole time. You giggled as he led you around the school.
"You are quite the tour guide." You said as he spun you around playfully.
"Oh I'm the best." He winked at you. Rolling your eyes, you stepped ahead of Poe and walked into the classroom that you were both supposed to be in. You sat down in a desk and Poe plopped down beside you.
"My dear y/n, welcome to Resistance High, otherwise known as; Hell."

"So, y/n, how's your first day going?" Rey asked you as you sat down at the lunch table. You sighed.
"It's going." You replied. She giggled. Poe plopped down beside you with a lunch tray.
"She's already been invited to three different parties." Poe elbowed you with a wink. You rolled your eyes.
"It was only one." You corrected.
"Right but, get this, it was Ren's." He said pointedly to Rey. Rey blushed and looked down.
"Wait am I missing something?" You butted in.
"Our dear friend Rey here happens to have a little crush on the Principles son." Poe explained.
"What are we talking about?" Finn asked as he and Rose sat down.
"Nothing!" Rey said quickly. You laughed.
"We were just talking about Rey's crush." Poe said.
"Right, Rey can we talk about that again?" Finn teased her.
"There's nothing to talk about!" She defended crossing her arms over her chest.
"Who is this Ren person, may I ask?" You asked.
"He's the principled son. Total drama queen if you ask me." Poe said dramatically. You raised your eyebrows at him.
"Really?"
"Yep. Still slightly in his emo faze, you know? Captain of fencing team. Rey's better than him, by the way. She's captain of the girls team if you didn't know." He winked at Rey and she rolled her eyes.
"You forgot one important detail there Poe." Finn interjected.
"Yeah, what's that?" He asked turning to his friend. Finn turned to you.
"His real name's Ben."
"What!" You laughed. "Why do you all call him Ren?"
"He told people to start calling him that in middle school." Rose explained. Rey covered her face in her hands.
"Made him seem more edgy." Poe giggled poking you with his elbow.
"Ok, but he doesn't like being called that anymore!" Rey defended.
"Riiiight." Finn said sarcastically.
"Let's change the subject before I throw myself off the bus later." Rey mumbled. She turned to you. "Tell them about where you came from y/n." She insisted. A choruses if 'yeah's followed.
"Well, I went to Jakku Prep like Rey. Then Rey left and I got lonely so I transferred a year later. She was really my only friend." You explained.
"Well now you have us." Poe said throwing his arm around your shoulders. Again, you found yourself blushing as he did this. There was just something about him that made you get all flustered.
"Thanks," you smiled. "What about the rest of you? Any interesting things I should know?" You asked while taking a bite of your sandwich.
"I play football. I used to do fencing with Ren, but I wasn't cut out for it." Finn said with a shrug.
"What about you Rose?" You asked the other girl.
"I'm really tech savvy so I'm on the robotics team, but other than that I don't really do anything else to be honest." She laughed a little. You turned to Poe with a smile. He smirked back at you.
"Well Ms. y/n. I'm quite the specimen if I do say so myself. I'm the fastest runner this school's got. I'm in the student council, I somehow got on Principle Leia's good terms. Don't ask how, because I have no clue." He rambled. You giggled at his dramatic hand moments.
"You have to much of an ego Poe Dameron." Finn said cupping his hand in Poe's shoulder.
"I do not! I'm just above average in all aspects of human beings." He defended himself. "I'm good looking, athletic, smart. What else could a guy need?"
"All right Poe, riddle me this. If you're so perfect why don't you have a significant other?" Finn questioned his friend. Poe stared him dead in the eye.
"Boys ain't shit and hoes be mad."
You immediately burst into giggles at what he said.
"I'll take it." Rey said laughing. Finn rolled his eyes and then the bell rang, signaling us to start heading back to class. You got up and started heading for the cafeteria doors, Poe falling into step beside you.
"You should go to that party." He said nudging slightly with his shoulder.
"Why?" You asked him.
"Because I'll be there. And if you go Rey can come with you and she'll want to see Ren." He explained. You shrugged your shoulders.
"Alright, I'll see you there Poe."
