Sunshine

Magnus scrunched his face up as the sun peeked through the curtains. He stretched and blinked his eyes open confused as to where he was at first before he turned his head to look over at Alec. He smiled softly looking around the room before looking back over at Alec. He reached over brushing the hair from Alec's forehead gently before moving to get out of bed without waking him. He stretched before moving towards the bathroom gently shutting the door behind him washing his face with some cool water from the sink taking a deep breath looking into the mirror wishing he had washed his face better the night before. He ran his fingers through his hair before turning and leaving the bathroom moving to sit on the foot of the bed when he noticed the bedroom door was cracked open. He frowned looking up before he smiled tilting his head whispering "you can come in darling. Just be quiet so you don't wake him up." Max pushed the door open further giving Magnus the cutest little wave before moving to climb into bed. He gently snuggled up against Alec humming softly as he tugged on Alec's hand. "Da wake up. I want pancakes" Magnus turned reaching for Max. "Darling let him rest and I will make you pancakes." Max pouted looking at Magnus and then back at Alec and he sat up shifting to give Alec a kiss and Alec groaned at the sudden weight pressing against his chest. "Hmm easy please Monkey. Daddy is sleepy." Alec shifted to hold Max and murmured softy "go make your bed and then daddy will get up and make pancakes." he kissed Max on the temple hugging him tightly. Max smiled wide staying there for a moment longer before climbing out of bed heading to his room and Alec yawned stretching. He turned to look at Magnus, he looked at the spot in bed next to him before looking back at Magnus raising an eyebrow "did we?" Magnus smirked shaking his head "no Alexander we didn't you fell asleep and when I came up here for blankets you asked me to stay so I did. I promise we just slept." Alec nodded before sitting up stretching as he got out of bed. He walked past Magnus to go change and he stopped turning to kiss Magnus on the head briefly and he pointed towards a draw "There are spare clothes in there. Help yourself. I know they won't fit perfectly but they are probably more comfortable then what you've been wearing all night." Magnus smiled grabbing Alec's hand kissing it and Alec rolled his eyes going into the bathroom to change while Magnus changed in the bedroom. After they were both finished they headed downstairs. Together. 

Max was sitting in the living room playing with Jace while Alec worked on baking cinnamon rolls from scratch and Magnus sat at the counter watching. Alec glanced up as he put the tray in the oven and he raised an eyebrow. "What are you smirking at Mr. Bane?" Magnus stood up walking around the counter laughing softly. "Its Mr. Bane now is it? Well, Mr. Lightwood I am admiring you of course. Well, I am admiring your cinnamon rolls to be exact." Alec laughed shaking his head and he moved to push past Magnus so he could go to the fridge but Magnus stopped him by grabbing his wrist. He made Alec face him and he kissed his knuckles all the while looking Alec in the eyes. Alec blushed and looked away so Magnus moved a hand grabbing Alec's chin tilting it so they were making eye contact again. "Don't. it's ok to be happy Alec. I meant what I have said in our past conversations. Moons, stars, the world. you name it and I will be it." Alec shook his head slightly gently moving Magnus's hand from his chin. "It isn't that Magnus. I'm just not used to this that's all." Magnus gently squeezed Alec's hand "dance with me?" Alec laughed as he pushed past Magnus. "I don't dance Magnus. Get me drunk enough and I might but not sober." Magnus smirked as Jace walked in carrying Max in his arms and he looked between the two before nudging Alec. "You did a little more than just dance last night" Alec grabbed the milk from the fridge and looked at Jace his eyes going wide "tell me you didn't take pictures." Jace shrugged setting Max down "I didn't but Izzy did." Alec groaned moving past everyone to pour Max a glass of milk. "I can't take you guys anywhere." He moved to set the glass of milk in front of Max's seat at the table moving to put the milk away. Jace sat down at the table smirking at the fact that Magnus pulled out his phone playing music from it. Alec turned raising his eyebrows at Jace and when Jace held his hands up in innocence he glared at Magnus. He went to say something but Max squealed softly running towards Alec holding his arms up. "Daddy its the sunshine song" Alec kneeled putting on a smile and he allowed Max to run into his arms before kissing his cheek as he stood up holding Max close. "Dance daddy please" Alec started to bounce Max around in his arms as they stood in the kitchen all the while You are My Sunshine played in the background. Alec mouthed to Magnus "I hate you." Magnus smiled wide mouthing back "no you don't." Max was laughing happily and Alec held out his hand towards Magnus as if inviting him to come dance with him and Max. Magnus grinned wrapping his arms around Max and Alec swaying them back and forth singing along to the song softly which only made Max smile wider. Little did Alec and Magnus know that Jace was taking pictures of the three of them and sending them to Maryse a soft smile on his face. 

Jace was outside playing with Max after breakfast and Alec was sorting through bills and trying to get everything for when Maryse comes home. He was chewing his lip looking at his to-do list and Magnus looked over at him before pushing everything out of the way tilting Alec's head up giving him a kiss. "Stop getting worried over nothing and take a walk with me" Alec sighed softly before looking at the time. "I will drive you home so you can be in your own clothes and then we can take a walk from there." Magnus smiled and nodded heading to grab his wallet and stuff from the counter. Alec said a quick goodbye to Jace and Max before heading to the car. Alec drove in mostly silence except for the occasional question to Magnus about which way. He chewed his lip when they finally arrived taking a mental note of the address. He followed Magnus to the elevator after parking and offered Magnus a small smile. Magnus unlocked the door after getting off the elevator and he set his keys by the door waving in the general area of the kitchen and living room. "Make yourself at home there are drinks in the fridge." He headed towards the bedroom while Alec stood near the front door looking around chewing his lip shifting nervously. "When does your mother get back into town? Do you have anything big planned? Maybe I can arrange for dinner at the restaurant. I could handle everything so you can just enjoy yourself. What do you think?" Magnus adjusted his look in the mirror waiting on a response and frowned when he didn't get one so he walked back towards the living room. "Alexander?" Alec was leaning against the kitchen counter looking around at everything and Magnus smiled. "Do you like it?" Alec turned his head nodding "uh it's... it's nice." Magnus chuckled "I sense a but coming after that." Alec smiled slightly before crossing his arms shrugging "but its a lot." Magnus moved to uncross Alec's arms so he could wrap his arms around Alec's waist and press against his chest. He smiled at Alec as they stood chest to chest "Alec dear, you can't be that surprised I.." Alec shook his head cupping Magnus's cheeks. "Don't give me another one of your talks Magnus. I know its ok, but let me take it in as I want. Let me be nervous because everything is so nice, but more importantly let me be nervous because my.. because you just slept in my bed last night and I am pretty sure your couch is softer than my mattress. Let me take it in. I'm fine, but let me do that." Magnus smiled tilting his head to kiss one of Alec's hands nodding. "Ok but take it in quickly because we will miss all the sunshine if we don't leave soon." Alec laughed shaking his head he playfully pushed Magnus away heading towards the door turning to look at Magnus. "Well, then Mr. Bane lets go soak up the sunshine." At that Magnus smiled and they left the loft together ready to just spend the day enjoying each others company.
