Pinky Promises

Alec by the time they left the park was tired and tipsy which made for interesting conversation as they walked. He was walking just slightly ahead of Magnus when he turned to walk backwards so he could look at Magnus. "You know the first time I saw you I didn't think you were real. You came in soaking wet in an expensive suit and then again with your leather shoes and orange juice all over your white pants" Alec snickered and Magnus raised an eyebrow. "I thought when you made that comment about me being on my knees you were one of those stuck ups from uptown the grocery store however that I think you plotted. Are you stalking me Magnus?" Magnus smiled wide shaking his head "no I'm not stalking you but I may have heard through the grapevine which store you like to go to so I took a chance." Alec stopped pointing at Magnus "who was it that told you?" Alec paused before it dawned on him "how did Izzy tell you she wasn't even home that weekend." Magnus stepped forward leaning in so he could speak into Alec's ear "remember how I'm not one to kiss and tell? Well I also don't share how I get my information." The smirk in his voice was clear as day and Alec grumbled softly turning to continue towards the house. Magnus chuckled following behind. When they got to the house Alec turned  "set the basket down." Magnus shot Alec a questioning look before setting it besides the door. Alec smiled stepping forward checking both ways and in the windows before pulling Magnus by the hand to the little bench that's tucked away on the corner of the porch, out of the line of site from the street and just slightly out of site from the living room window. "Alec what are we doing? You should go inside you've had most of my wine and you work in the morning." Alec gently pulled Magnus down to sit and he put his face close enough to Magnus's ear that his breath could  be felt against Magnus's jaw. "Every time we kiss it's like one of us is running away. It's a soft brush of the lips as if one of us breathed and I imagined it. I hope I didn't imagine it but in case I did..." Alec gently cupped Magnus's jaw pressing his lips against his and gave Magnus a firm kiss before moving to pull away. "Don't please just not yet." Magnus whispered this softly against Alec's lips before pulling Alec into another kiss holding him there gently a hand resting on Alec's thigh. Alec pulled back after a moment blushing and looking at his lap. Magnus smiled "yeah I don't think either of us imagined that." Alec nodded a smile on his face before standing heading back towards the door. He stopped  and turned slightly to look at Magnus "Uh thanks for the wine and stuff. Text me later. Goodnight Magnus." Alec went inside pressing his back against the door closing his eyes just letting himself enjoy the moment for a second longer. He started to walk up the stairs after a few moments checking Max's room only to find his son asleep on the floor with Simon and a spot is clearly open for Izzy. He smiled heading towards his room stopping when he sees his sister on his bed painting her nails. "Is my room just open invitation now? You sharing that information with Magnus too or did you just do that with my grocery store habits?" He moved setting his jacket on his dresser lifting his shirt over his head tossing it into the laundry basket and she looked up. "First of all how do you know it was me. Second of all how was the date? Did you kiss?" Alec rolled his eyes turning to go wash his face and change for bed. "As if I would tell you Izzy you're the biggest gossip of the family." She smirked clearly proud of that fact and she blew on his finger nails helping them dry faster. "So you did kiss him or maybe he kissed you. Either way you kissed." Alec started brushing his teeth glaring at her through the mirror. After rinsing his mouth he walked back out leaning against the door frame. "Why are you in my room Izzy and why are you wearing my shirt? You have a husband that you could steal clothes from." She shrugged "I just wanted to be sure the date went well and I found the shirt in the laundry room and decided to stake claim on it so deal with it big brother." He laughed softly moving to sit by her kissing the top of her head. She rested it on his shoulder "Alec..." he made a soft humming noise as a way of acknowledging her. She looked up at him "can I have some money I want to take Max to the movies tomorrow with Jace and Simon." Alec shifted "Jace is off tomorrow?" She nodded. "Yeah he said he would come see you after the movie and plan dinner with us later this week." Alec nodded before shifting to grab his wallet from his pocket passing her some money. "Tell him I said hi and that I miss him" she grinned kissing his cheek before getting up so he can go to bed. She stopped at the door way turning to look at Alec. "Goodnight Alec don't think too much about Magnus." She winked before shutting his door and he rolled his eyes laughing.

Alec laid in bed the morning. Alec laud there listening to the peace and quiet for a moment longer before he had to get up and get his son ready. He rolled over reaching for his phone smiling at the message from Magnus. It read "hope today goes smoothly. Text me." Alec set his phone aside moving to go get Max up and ready. He was wearing only a pair of grey sweat pants and he reached for a sweater slipping it on before opening the door to Max's room.  "Monkey time to get up" Alec called as he walked into Max's room laughing when he saw Max sitting by Simons head playing with his hair and Max turned smiling. "Daddy uncle Simon pretty" Alec laughed nodding. "Yes monkey you made uncle Simon look very pretty." Izzy shifted at the laughter and her eyes went wide when she saw that Max got into her makeup bag and put it all over Simons face. Alec looked at her and she gestured to her phone. He nodded grabbing it to take a picture before passing it to her moving to lift Max up from the floor. "Time to wash up and then it's brush your teeth pack our bag and get ready for the movies with aunt Izzy and uncle Jace ok monkey?" Max nodded burying his face in Alec's neck humming softly. Alec kissed his head as he made his way to the bathroom in his room. He started a bath setting max on the floor while he grabbed a towel and of course Max's bath toys. "Ok little man arms up" he scooped Max up kissing his cheek before putting him in the water adding a little bit of bubbles because he knows Max likes them. He gently washed Max's hair humming softly to him and letting him play with his rubber ducks and his boat for a little bit before letting the water out and wrapping Max in a towel holding him close to his chest. After getting Max dressed for the day, feeding him a waffle, brushing his teeth, and packing both their bags Alec had some time before needing to leave and he sat on his bed holding Max in his lap letting Max color. He reached for his phone taking a picture and Max leaned back to snuggle into Alec's chest pushing the crayons and book away. Alec smiled kissing the top of his head stroking his back gently. Max sniffled trying to bury his face further and Alec frowned "monkey what is it?" Max shook his head playing with Alec's sweater mumbling something. "Buddy you've got to speak up so daddy can understand you." Max didn't look up at him just said in a sad little voice "I wanted daddy to come with us to the movies." Alec sighed softly "I know buddy and daddy wants to but he has work and this is the only week you can go before grandma is back and you go back to school with your friends during the morning but then at lunch time you can come see daddy." Max shook his head and Alec could feel him begin to cry. "Max buddy shh I know. How about you go see a movie with uncle Jace and aunt Izzy and daddy will give you money for a slushy and then tonight you and I can make dinner together and watch a movie on the couch and when it's time for bed you can sleep in here." Max sat up his little face wet from tears and he grabbed Alec's hand "promise you'll be home for dinner. You're never home for dinner and story time." Alec nodded gently wiping the tears from his sons face "I promise monkey." Max shook his head holding his pinky up "you've got to pinky promise." Alec kicked his pinky with his sons kissing them murmuring "I promise my love." Max seemed satisfied with that answer and went back to laying against Alec's chest.
