Feel

Max seemed to like living with Magnus. It has only been about a month since everything with Robert happened. Max and Magnus had gotten into a routine of making breakfast together and Magnus seeing him off for the day before he would return to working in his office or helping clean the kitchen up. Alec, on the other hand, would get up, get Max ready for the day, and then sit on the balcony and read or head off to work. Today was different though. Max had already left with Izzy and both Alec and Magnus had the day off, well sorta. Alec was sitting on the couch reading a book while Magnus was stood around the kitchen island with some of his workers discussing ideas for an event and why the popularity of their small menu has died down some. Alec glanced over on occasion and offered Magnus a small smile when they made eye contact. Magnus smiled back winking and Alec rolled his eyes playfully going back to his book. When Magnus left to walk everyone out Alec got up going to Magnus's notes on the counter looking over them chewing his lip for a moment before grabbing the pen and crossing things out and making his own changes. He set the pen back down and moved to start dinner. Magnus came up behind Alec kissing his shoulder gently. Alec hummed softly and murmured "I made a few changes that will save money overall. I hope you don't mind." Magnus chuckled and put on a joking stern voice "How dare you save me money Alexander. Its uncalled for." Alec laughed softly and turned to face Magnus kissing his cheek as he spoke. "Have you ever thought of opening a second location but not just a second restaurant that is a carbon copy but more so a second business that has the class of your first restaurant but the affordability of say your smaller competitors. In reality you are serving only a percentage of the population but I think with a few modifications. Say a larger menu  including more deserts and a family friendly environment your already successful name could be well unstoppable." Magnus tilted his head and Alec quickly shook his head "sorry it was just an idea." Magnus cupped Alec's face smiling as he spoke "its a great idea Alexander. There would be a lot to look at and see what is and what isn't doable but there's potential there. I think if we moved forward with the idea that I would need the best person in charge of it. Why don't you an I later on sit down and crunch some numbers?" Alec nodded and turned to go back to cooking. Magnus squeezed Alec's arm turning to collect his notes to put into the office pausing when he saw Alec practically laid out not just a budget for this event but an entire plan for the restaurant as a whole. More food options and an entire plan for making money through a to go service with selections from almost the entire menu. Magnus glanced at Alec seeing how happy he looked when he cooked but then he sees these plans and he smiled softly. Alec was more than a baker. He was a business man and a smart one at that. 

Magnus was sitting in bed scrolling on his iPad as Alec folded some laundry. Every so often Magnus would glance up to watch Alec a soft smile resting on his face. "So Alexander I was thinking. Max isn't home and we have a busy day ahead of us tomorrow. Its alright if you want to sleep in here with me tonight. I know its a bit cramped in the guest room we are using for Max. I don't know why you won't sleep in here to begin with but I respect your wishes. Come on Alexander one night won't hurt anything.." Alec put the towels in the bathroom turning to look at Magnus shrugging. "This is your space not mine. Therefore I won't push myself into it as if it is my own." Magnus rolled his eyes setting the iPad aside and gave Alec a stern look as he spoke. "Alexander I would never invite you to stay with me if I wasn't willing to share every square inch of my home. I wouldn't have invited you to sleep in here if I had an issue with as you said sharing my space. Stop thinking of this as my space. Its a space I live in but it is also a space you live in and a space Max lives in so in a sense this is all of our space." Magnus patted the spot beside him inviting Alec to come sit beside him. Alec sighed softly moving to sit in bed beside Magnus and leaned back against the headboard. Magnus kissed Alec's shoulder before moving to kiss Alec on the neck and the collar bone. He kissed the corner of Alec's mouth before pulling away just enough that Alec could feel his breath and the ghost of his lips against his skin. Magnus spoke softly "you think to much Alexander. Stop thinking. Not everything needs to be thought out it just needs to be felt." Magnus kissed Alec's jaw murmuring "bills and business plans need to be thought out Alexander but if you should lay in bed with me doesn't. Where to take me on a date needs some thought." He shifted kissing Alec's chest through the fabric of his bed shirt before speaking again. "what my skin feels like against yours needs no thought. What these sheets wrapped around you at night feels like needs no thought. This relationship doesn't always need thought Alexander. At times it will. At times you need to shut off that brilliant brain of yours and just let yourself live in the moment." Magnus moved to sit in Alec's lap kissing him slowly letting Alec relax into the kiss before grabbing Alec's hand and placing it over his heart  leaning so his mouth was near Alec's ear and he whispered. "Just feel what my heart feels like beating against your palm. Feel Alexander. Don't think just feel." Magnus moved his one hand to cup Alec's cheek shifting to kiss Alec's jaw closing his eyes humming and Alec took a breath his fingers curling against Magnus's chest the soft fabric of Magnus's robe bunching up in his grip. "Magnus.." Alec breathed turning his head to capture Magnus's lips again kissing him slowly pulling Magnus closer. They sat there in each others embrace for just a moment, but it felt like longer. Magnus's hand rested at the nape of Alec's neck gently playing with his hair while Alec held Magnus by the hips. After a moment Alec pulled back burying his face in Magnus's neck smiling wide and Magnus turned his head to press a kiss to Alec's head. Alec took a deep breath and Magnus could feel how relaxed Alec was. "See what happens when you just let yourself feel? See how your shoulders relax. Feel more often Alexander." Alec rolled so that they were laying on their sides facing one another, Magnus's legs entwined with Alec's as they just lied in bed together. Neither of them letting go. Alec closed his eyes snuggling closer to Magnus, if that was even possible. Magnus gently stroked Alec's cheek smiling "you're thinking again Alexander." Alec blushed slightly opening his eyes to look at Magnus. "I know. I am sorry sometimes its just hard to shut my mind off." Magnus chuckled softly and spoke softly pulling the the blanket over them. "So talk. Tell me physically what you are feeling. What are you thinking?" Alec sighed softly before murmuring "I was thinking about how different my life could have been. I'm not talking about Max or my father I am talking about you. If you hadn't walked into my store that day. Soaked from the rain and in a bad mood. I think of how if that never happened I could be alone with Max against my dad. I think of how the softness of your skin would never be felt by my fingertips. How if that day had never happened I would never feel the smoothness of your finger tips on my hips when you think I am not paying attention or when I am alseep on the couch. I think of how if that day never happened I would be in bed right now alone. It would be like I was in a room alone everyone is.." Magnus cut Alec off with a kiss before finishing the sentence for him. "Like you are in a room alone and everyone is dancing but you are dancing alone trying to catch your breath." Alec searched Magnus's eyes and Magnus smiled murmuring. "Don't ever worry about that again Alexander. Don't worry about what if just worry about the scent of my shampoo. How our sheets feel against your skin as we lie here. What do you feel Alexander?" Alec closed his eyes burying his face again whispering one small phrase. A phrase Magnus never expected to hear from Alec first "I love you." Magnus paused looking down at Alec in disbelief. He just stared and as he sat there thinking of a response Alec kissed his chest letting the silence surround them happily because he had the gentle touch of Magnus's fingertips in his hair gently rubbing circles and that was enough for Alec. In this moment Magnus was all Alec needed to find peace.
