You Love It

Alec was cleaning up the kitchen a bit after his sister left with Max and he looked up when Simon walked in glaring at him. Alec laughed "good morning handsome." Simon shot him an even dirtier look "I swear your son takes after my wife with the way those two behave." Alec shrugged taking a sip of his coffee "what can I say us Lightwoods have a certain charm." Simon shook his head grabbing a mug to pour some coffee mumbling "I feel like I still have glitter on my eyelids." Alec chuckled washing his mug out setting it aside to dry. Alec clapped Simon on the back "have a good day. I will be home for dinner you and Izzy are welcome to join." Simon nodded "yeah see you around Alec." Alec started walking to work checking his phone when Izzy texted him a picture of Max and Jace together. Alec clenched his jaw slightly wondering why Jace hasn't texted him yet. He opened his phone to text Magnus. "Lunch today?" He pulled his keys out to unlock the shop once he arrived and he instantly took his sweater off. After washing his hands and tying an apron around his waist he started to grab what he needed for the day playing music softly on phone. The business was pretty slow most of the day and Alec opened his messages to Jace typing one that simply says "hey you busy?" He sighed softly looking at the months of texts he had sent since Jace left with no response back. He was cleaning the tables when he heard the front door and he turned his face lighting up when he saw Jace standing there sheepishly, Izzy, Simon, and his son behind him. "Jace.." he dropped his rag moving to hug his brother a smile on his face. Jace hugged him back before moving so the others could come in and he chuckled "I missed you too Alec." They were all sitting around the store chatting while Simon colored with Max when Magnus walked in stopping as soon as he was inside looking at everyone. He made eye contact with Alec holding up the food bag"I thought when you said let's have lunch you meant the two of us, not us and your siblings.." Alec bit his lip standing up moving to grab the food from Magnus pulling him aside lowering his voice. "Magnus I didn't know they were coming I am sorry. Let me make it up to you. My place tonight. Dinner. After we get Max to bed Jace, Izzy, and I were going to go out you should come." Magnus tilted his head before nodding stroking Alec's cheek gently. "Alright but at least introduce me to everyone first" Magnus brushed past Alec to go say hello to Max and Alec bit his lip before turning to follow Magnus. "Izzy, Simon, Jace this is my uh friend Magnus" Izzy chuckled smirking at her brother before smiling softly at Magnus. "It is nice to see you again Magnus. I am not used to seeing you outside of your suits" Magnus smiled at her as he lifted Max up to give him a hug. "The pleasure is always mine Isabelle" Simon nodded towards Magnus meanwhile Jace looked between Alec and Magnus before leaning back in his chair smirking towards Alec. "You must be Jace because I have met everyone except for you and Maryse and I am fairly certain you aren't Maryse." Jace nodded before standing "you are Alec's..friend" he said it as if the word friend was meant to be something different and Alec groaned. "Do not start Jace" Alec warned with his voice and Max giggled looking between the two before reaching towards Alec silently demanding to be handed over to his father. Alec held him close before taking a seat besides Izzy humming to Max softly smiling when he noticed Max falling asleep on his shoulder.

They all sat and talked for a while before Alec closed up the store Jace holding Max and Magnus turned his head to make sure no one was looking before saying teasingly "I wasn't aware we were friends Alexander none of my friends kissed me like you've kissed." Alec turned rolling his eyes pocketing his keys "you're impossible Magnus. Why don't you walk me home while my siblings drive and we can talk? just the two of us. It can make up for lunch today." Magnus smiled nodding "I would like that" Alec smiled back turning to tell his siblings and Jace smirked, "have fun on your walk with your friend Alec." Alec held up his middle finger as he and Magnus began to walk back towards his house letting an easy and comfortable silence surround them. Alec glanced around biting his lip before dropping his hand down letting it rest right near Magnus's as they walked their pinkies brushing. Magnus smiled before shifting his hand just slightly in order to grab ahold of Alec's lacing their fingers together.  Alec looked over at Magnus before saying softly "so what are we?" Magnus hummed and murmured back "two guys trying to figure it out one step at a time." Alec nodded before squeezing Magnus's hand gently "what should we call each other if people ask?" Magnus glanced at Alec before squeezing back "It is in my experience that we can call each other whatever we please because it's our business what we are." Alec chewed his lip nervously and Magnus could sense the uneasiness so he stopped walking turning to face Alec. "Stop overthinking. Do me a favor and close your eyes. Just close your eyes and listen." Magnus waited until Alec did so before continuing. "It doesn't matter what name you call me. What term you refer to us as. What matters is this right here. The sound of my voice. The weight of my hand in yours" he kissed Alec gently. "The taste of my lips on yours. Our relationship could be so opposite of what everyone in society says it should be but at the end of every day the stars still shine alongside the moon and as long as you're happy Alexander I will be your moon or your stars or a clear night sky if that's what you desire, but you've got to let me in. If you try to do that then call me friend, lover, or partner and I will look at you as I am looking at you now; like I am the luckiest man on this entire earth." Alec opened his eyes smiling and he shook his head before teasing. "The stars and the moon?" Magnus laughed starting to walk again "you love it and you know you do ALexander." Alec smiled rolling his eyes falling silent secretly loving what Magnus had just said but he wouldn't let Magnus know that. Not yet anyway.
