      Chapter 3

I was laying on my bed in the day. Everyone was asleep, but I just couldn't sleep. Keith wouldn't open his mouth about what he saw and every time I brought that topic up, he would just freeze in fear so I decided to talk about it after few days maybe. I was facing the window with my back to William while his arm was on my waist. The soft snoring assures that he was in deep sleep.

I didn't know what was going on but I was sure that whoever this person was, knew a lot about me.

I glance at the clock on my bedside table. 2:13am. I sigh, and slowly remove William's hand from my waist and get up from the bed. I walk towards the window and remove the curtains partially in order to see the sky. The full moon looked splendid in the clear sky. The roads were empty and the area was very quiet. All that could be heard was the muffled sound of wind that made the leaves and branches of the trees move gently. For some reason, I found this quietness very calming.

I bury my face in the palm of my hands while I think about the recent events. I was so eager to know who this man was. Why hasn't he troubled me in the last thirteen years but suddenly when I move to New York, he decides to shoot? Would I find out the answer to my questions if I went to Oklahoma? I didn't know. I wasn't sure. I was just nervous as to what might happen next. I must share this with someone. A part of me thinks William should know but then again, I was scared to put him in danger. But wasn't my family already in danger?

I yelp when suddenly a pair of arms holds me by the waist.

"Woah, relax. It's just me," William says keeping both his arms in the air.

"Oh, Will, I'm so sorry," I sigh and he hugs me.

"What's wrong? Is it about Keith?" he says keeping his chin on top of my head.

"Sort of, and other things as well," I say softly.

          "Other things?" he questions.

          "I don't know," I say sighing.

He pulls away in order to look me in the eye. I look at him briefly then turn my gaze away. I'm not sure should I tell him but I should. He's my husband after all; he is the only one who can possibly help right?

"Will, I..." I start but my words are cut off by a loud William and me look at each other before storming out of our room and rushing towards the kids' room first. Opening the door of the room, I find Sara sitting in the far end corner of the room hugging her knees and teddy bear. I look to the other side of the room where Keith was standing still like a statue, staring at Sara as if he would eat her soul out.

I quickly rush over to Sara while William goes towards Keith. I bury Sara in my arms while she sinks into me with fear in traveling through her veins. She was the one who screamed and now she was crying silently.

William jerks Keith by the shoulder but he doesn't move. He continues to stare at the empty place where Sara was.  "Keith!! What's wrong?!" he yells out.

I swallow hard as I start to feel scared. What was happening to Keith? First, he wasn't ready to spill out whatever he saw in broad daylight in the backyard and now he was acting as if he was possessed.

All of a sudden, Keith falls onto his knees but William quickly grabs him as he sits on the floor with Keith in his arms.

"He's... he's going to kill us," Keith manages to say out softly.
