After I sent a message I just read some files, medyo gumaan ang loob ko sa ginawa kong iyon, nadistract din ang mga pinagiisip ko hanggang sa dumating na ang mga bata.

I served them merienda at sabay-sabay kaming kumain agad. Sa pagod ni Uno at ni Niki at nakatulog agad sila kahit alas-singko palang.

Umupo ako sa single sofa at tinitigan ang phone ko. I need to let go. I need to do this for my kids. For my family.

Binuksan ko lahat ng social media accounts ko at inunblocked si Unija sa lahat ng social media platforms ko except sa email dahil hindi ko naman siya nablocked doon.

Saglit lang na pagsscroll ko ay nagpop-up ang message niya.

Unija :
Hey, bakit moko blinocked?

Unija :
We should hang out.

Unija :
Kung ano man iyon, I'm really sorry.

Tumaas ang kilay ko at napabuntong-hininga. Maraming scenarios ang pumapasok sa utak ko but I brushed it all off.

To Unija :
I have work, sa reunion nalang tayo magkita.

The reunion was moved next week, nearly christmas break, I need to breathe and to give time for myself before facing all of this.

Unija :
Sige. I have something to tell you but sure, reunion then.

I gasped an air and I stood up. Saktong bumukas ang main door.

My eyes widened when Vernon showed up. He was stunned that I was there but he quickly move when he's back to his senses.

Sinalubong niya ako ng yakap. Iyong yakap na parang hindi na ata mapuputol. Sobrang higpit na hindi na rin ako makawala.

Nakaramdam ako ng gaan sa dibdib ko that made me hug him back. Later on K heard his small sobs making me have teary eyes.

That small sobs turn into noisy crying. Wala akong nagawa kundi ang aluin ang asawa ko.

"Shh, hon. Okay na. Don't cry na." I look like I am wooing a child baby like Niki and he's a wounded kid.

Maya-maya ay humina ang kanyang iyak kaya tinulak ko siya ng bahagya para makita ang itsura niya.

He's wearing a white dress shirt paired with grey slacks and silver watch. His hair is messy and his skin was swollen red, the ears and nose mostly his eyes.

Hinawakan ko ang magkabilang pisngi niya at nagpipigil nanaman siya ng luha making him pout a bit that I find it cute. I use my barehands, gamit ang hinlalaki ay pinunasan ko ang luha niya.

I tiptoed and gave him a peck making him close his eyes. Lumayo ako at hinawakan ang magkabilang kamay niya, doon lang siya dumilat ng dahan-dahan. Tila pagod na pagod ang mata niya.

"Maghahain na ba ako ng hapunan para makatulog kana ng maaga?" I asked, smiling widely.

He nodded. Tumalikod ako at maghahain sana ng yakapin niya ang bewang ko at hapitin ako papalapit sakanya.

Pinatong niya ang baba niya saaking kaliwang braso, "H-Hon, I'm so sorry." Sambit niya.

It really broke me. He's confirming something that I wasn't sure of. I just nodded and held his hands na nasa harapan ko.

"W-Wala iyon! Kumain ka muna, I bet you didn't have your lunch." Sambit ko.

"Hmmm."

Naghain ako ng pagkain niya, humiwalay lang siya saakin ng kumain siya, he even finished thrice of set food sa gutom niya.

Buti nalang at nagluto na si Manang Grace kanina ng Chicken Curry, sinabi ko narin na pakainin niya ang mga bata dahil mauuna na kami ni Vernon dahil maraming dapat pagusapan, wala namang reklamo si Manang at pinagtulakan na dapat lamang daw iyon para maayos ang pamilya namin.

Pinanood ko bawat kain ni Vernon. Mayroon pang mga pangyayari na itatapat niya ang kutsara na may kanin at ulam saakin pero bigla naman niyang kakainin. Inoofferan niya ako pero iniinggit at the same time.

Pagkatapos kumain ay umakyat kami sa kwarto ng sabay. Umupo ako sa kama at pinanood siyang kumuha ng tuwalya at pumasok sa banyo.

Habang naliligo siya ay tumayo ako at pumunta sa walk-in closet namin at kumuha ng pair ng pajamas niya, naglabas rin ako ng pajamas ko at tsaka ko nilapag sa kama.

It took him so long to shower that I decided to go in. I saw him on the tub, laying like he already slept there but when the door cricked because of me, he opened he's eyes.

Sobrang saya ng puso ko ng gabing iyon na parang gusto ko kunin ang trabaho lahat sa office. Ginanahan ang puso ko sa gabing iyon. Parang sa sandaling napagod ako kakaaway sakanya kahapon ay napagod naman ako sa kakatanggap ng pagmamahal niya ngayon.

He continuously brushed my hair using his bare fingers when I finally dozed off to sleep.

The last thing I heard was his nevr ending, "I love you" that made my heart sleep in peace.
