From Ami's POV,

The cold wind caressed my cheek, passing through my bushy hair and moving swiftly from where it came from. I stand there under the bright light of the moon and the darkness of the huge trees swaying in the wind. The night is peaceful, yet it has something that gets me to move forward. Strolling across, my mind is blank, just like the blackboard waiting for someone to fill it with a meaningful message.

I think the wait came to an end, but the blackboard turned into a canvas because the person was right in front of me, I couldn't look at his face, yet his persona attracted me to him. I tried to paint the canvas with many pictures while trying to move slowly toward the person, but none of the shapes fit in. Suddenly....

End of Ami's POV,

Ami sits on the bed breathless, with her eyes shut tight. She listens to someone moving around the room with small footsteps, approaching her. Waiting for the person to come closer, she jerks at a hand on her shoulder and opens her eyes.

"Goodness, Ami," Anu shouts in a whisper, signaling to come out because they can wake Ma up. Ami slowly breathes in full and follows behind Anu and Yash.

"What are you guys up to in the middle of the night?" Ami questions before reaching the living room.

"The same, that you are doing right now," Anu counters while throwing some light into the room.

"Just a bad dream," Yash spills in the conversation.

"Why would I be in the woods, behind an old man?" Yash huffs and throws himself on the couch.

"Wait, what?" Anu half-shouts, getting a hush from Ami and Yash.

"I woke up too because of the woods and a man." Ami and Yash try to absorb what Anu has told them.

"Well,.." Ami interjects, "I had the same dream of woods, but I don't know who the person was because I didn't see the person clearly," Ami stops, and they stare at each other for a good 2 seconds.

"That means, we had the same dream," Yash said, trying to get some logic out of the conversation that happened.

"Well, factually speaking, yes," Anu whispers.

Suddenly, the room is pitch dark. "Not again," Yash huffs.

"This is the third time in the week already," Anu said, tired of the power cuts.

Ami reaches out to them, and they walk in a line, bumping into the fridge at first and then seating themselves at the dining table. The darkness provided them with the liberty to bring their internal emotions out and form opinions on the conversation that they had.

"Do you think, that having the same dream is possible?" Ami blubbers out her thoughts. Anu and Yash keep the silence intact. Ami could sense that they were in a dilemma, so she raised another question, "Should we leave this topic here?" Still, there is no answer.

In a small tone, "No," Ami, Anu, and Yash sprint together for a second when they hear the voice. The room brightens up, leaving the three kids, tightly stuck to each other in nervousness.

Ami shouts, "Mom." There is no response, only the snores of two adults peacefully sleeping in the house are heard. A swoosh in the kitchen leaves them taking a step back. Ami slowly tries to go and check, with Anu and Yash following closely behind. Ami slowly and shakily turns on the kitchen lights, revealing nothing. Suddenly, a swoosh in the living room sends the three children shouting toward the bedroom, but they stop.

The three kids, freeze at their spot when they see a six feet old man, in his 60s, in a black tuxedo, and instead of a bow, a pointed-hat-shaped thing attached in place. The light in the room makes their dream clearer. He is smiling through his glasses, but the three kids are preparing to run. Though they seem to act like they are staring, inside their brains are working to take flight, but one person acts differently.
