Part 16 The underwater sojourn

Ami was astonished by the underwater sojourn, the view before her was formidable. It was like the water has engulfed half part of the school (but it hardly covered 0.1% part of it), a large deep blue crystal clear ocean spreading its water inside a four-wall boundary of the sojourn. There were two aquamarine coloured stairs near the two corners of the dark brown wall. In the middle of the ocean there were three huge Celestial Oyster Shell for mermaids to sit on, around a medium sized table shaped coral.

From Ami's POV,
Wow, this place is so majestic, I think the sojourns of all the mermaids will be upstairs. I swam through the room towards the stairs, in between there were many paintings of mermaids, some had bright colours and some were in black and white. There were many plants which covered the bottom part of the ocean, I didn't knew much about them so just headed on towards the stairs. I took the right stairs and swam upwards the stairs, when I reached the top, I noticed that there were again two paths with a common room same as that which I saw down but a little smaller one. I looked at the two paths one by one thinking which one to choose. Ami you have a meeting! My brain reminded me, with that I hurriedly swam down and from the other door which was just opposite to the door which I came in and in between the two stairs, made my way out. I again changed into my human form and followed Drake's directions which he mentioned before. When I stood up on my legs, my jaw dropped a feet, in front of me was a huge recreation ground, the winds blew through my long soft hair and my breath stopped. It was such a huge recreation ground, even a Olympic ground was not that huge. It had a levelled green grass spread across the whole ground, and around it there were stands for the four houses which were coloured as the carpets in the assembly hall to distinguish them. I wonder what games do these magical people play? Do they play basketball, badminton, hockey, football, cricket, or? I kept thinking to myself, suddenly a hand was placed on my shoulder and my balance went out and I thought I would fall but, someone grabbed me.
End of Ami's POV

Ami(wide eyes): Nep!

Nep (holding Ami): Hey Ami!

Ami(withdrawing herself from Nep and standing straight): How come you are here?

Nep(smiling): As the head boy mentioned we have a meeting.

Ami(confused): But, you don't wear a badge?

Nep(taking a pointed hat shaped badge out of his pocket with his name horizontally written on it): Oh, I don't wear this often, only when needed to.

Ami(oh): Hmmm

Nep(wearing the badge and smiling): Let me help you find your way.

Ami(thinking): No, no it's fine, I can do it myself.

Nep(stepping towards Ami): You know both of our destination is the same

Ami(looking straight into Nep's eyes and feeling a little uncomfortable and weird): What do you mean?

Nep(breaking the eye contact): That we two are perfects and we two should go to the meeting hall because we are already late.

Ami(staring at Nep): Oh! Then come on.

With that Ami and Nep resumed walking with Nep taking the lead and Ami walking behind him and sometimes looking at Nep with only one thought in mind What did he mean by same destination? It sounded weird! Ami didn't knew she had reached the meeting hall behind Nep who was holding the hall's door open for her. Nep snapped his fingers across her face and she came back to reality.

Nep(smiling): Hey, what were you thinking?

Ami(Sluttering): Nothing!

Nep(holding the door): Will you enter?
