I stood beside Abby and Kane, watching as Pike's men walked through the gate, all covered in blood. Bellamy was in front, a slightly guilty look on his face.

"My God, look at them," Abby mumbled.

Soon enough, Pike came into view, blood staining his shirt. I clenched my jaw as I stormed past Abby and Kane. "I'm gonna kill him--"

"No, Aiden, don't," Kane said, grabbing ahold of me. "It's done."

My head snapped to him, my eyebrows raised. "Kane, he killed 300 grounders. They were sent to protect us from Ice Nation. We can't just let him kill everyone he deems a threat."

Kane shook his head as he spoke sadly. "There's nothing we can do."

I stared at him in disbelief before ripping myself from his grasp. I turned to Pike as he spoke, standing on top of a platform.

"Everybody, listen up," he announced as people gathered around him. "24 hours ago, you elected me your Chancellor. Every action I've taken since, and every action I will take, will be to achieve one sacred goal... The creation of a self-sustaining, prosperous, and safe Arkadia."

I crossed my arms, scoffing as people cheered. Pike continued. "This morning, on a muddy field, our people paid tribute to those who have been taken from us by sending a message to the grounders. This land is ours now. Resist and you will be met by force. Fight and you will be greeted by death. Today is a new beginning. Mark it down, remember it just like the grounders will remember it."

Everyone cheered as Pike stepped down from the platform. He and his followers walked toward the station. As Bellamy passed me, his eyes met mine for a split second, before looking straight ahead.

"No wounded," Abby muttered as we watched the men walk away. "Ten against 300 and there's no wounded... How's that possible?"

I had made the decision to get my own room so I had started packing my things. When I heard the door open, I instantly knew it was Bellamy. I felt his gaze on me as I continued putting all my belongings in a tote.

"What are you doing?" The boy asked, quietly.

I didn't answer him as I grabbed my jacket and tossed it into the tote. Just as I grabbed my katana, I felt a hand touch my arm and I pulled away. "Don't touch me."

"Aiden--"

I spun around to see guilt written all over Bellamy's face. I felt the urge to cry, but I held it back as I spoke. "You killed 300 grounders, Bellamy... You can't just come back from that and expect everything to go back to normal. I need time to think."

I turned back around and put the strap of my katana over my head before grabbing the tote of my things. I turned around and took a step toward the door, but Bellamy stepped in front of me.

"Where are you gonna go?" He asked. "There are no open rooms."

I pursed my lips before answering. "I'm gonna stay with Raven. She's not gonna go behind my back and murder 300 grounders."

The boy's face fell as I brushed past him, walking out of the room. When I reached Raven's room, I saw her working, per usual. When she noticed I was standing in the doorway, she stopped working and looking at me.

"Do you mind if I stay with you for a bit?" I asked. "I can't be around Bellamy right now and there aren't any other rooms open."

She shook her head. "Not at all. Make yourself at home."

I thanked her with a smile as I walked into the room, setting my things on the table. Thankfully, Raven's room was big enough to have a bed and a couch so I'll be taking the couch for now.

"You okay?" The girl asked.

I flopped on the couch, the girl coming to sit beside me. I scoffed, shaking my head. "Oh, yeah. I'm fine. Except I'm not. I found out Clarke has a bounty on her head, one of my best friends died in Mount Weather two days ago, and my boyfriend is a murderer." Raven didn't say anything as I looked at her. "He massacred 300 grounders, Raven...while they slept." I bit my lip as blinked my tears away. "I can't even look at him anymore. It's like...Pike weaseled his way into Bellamy's head, telling him these awful things. We're human, we all make mistakes and I get that... We all have demons hidden inside us, but sometimes...it's best not to let them out."

Raven pulled me into a side hug, comfortingly.

"When did Jaha get back?" I mumbled under my breath. Four months ago, Jaha had taken 12 people including Murphy, in the search for the city of light. I walked closer, Raven by my side.

"What if I told you that there is a simple way to eliminate that pain?" Jaha explained to the small group of people in front of him.

"I'd say your full of crap," Raven said, stopping in the group. "There's no 'simple way to eliminate pain'. And you know it."

Jaha didn't say anything for a moment. Stepping forward, he held out a small blue Chip. "This can make it go away," he said.

I scoffed, crossing my arms. "Please."

"The key to the City of Light. To your salvation and relief."

"Okay," Raven said. "So you tell these people what? They swallow that and they'll be living in happy town for the rest of their lives? You should be ashamed of yourself."

I didn't say anything as I followed Raven back to the station. We were only a few feet away when I heard Jaha say something. "They're not ready." I turned back to look at him. "I'll be here when you are."

I scoffed, walking to the station.

I waited with Kane and Abby for Octavia to bring Clarke. Just then, Clarke and Octavia came running into the hall.

"Mom?" Clarke said.

Abby pulled the girl into a short hug. "We heard what happened. We know what Pike did. Is there anything we can do to prevent retaliation?"

"Abby, hurry," Kane whispered.

Kane knows of a secret exit in the wall that Octavia and Clarke had come through. I had found out what happened and practically begged Abby to let me go. She was reluctant because my burns are still healing, but she eventually agreed.

"We came here to give them Pike," Octavia explained.

Kane looked at the girl. "Pike is the duly elected Chancellor. Our people knew what they were voting for. Besides, he has the guards and all the guns. Can't get close to him."

"And that's not the way we do things," Abby stated quietly.

I raised an eyebrow. "Then maybe it's time we changed the way we do things."

"Security breach. Lockdown commencing," an announcement stated. My face fell.

"You three need to go. Now," Kane whispered.

"What about Lincoln?" Octavia asked, worried.

Kane turned to the girl. "You want to help him? Do it from the outside. With this." Kane pulled a walkie talkie from his pocket, handing it to Octavia. "The range isn't great. Stay close and wait for me to contact you. Go."

I followed Octavia into the hole, Clarke following close behind.

°°°

There are so many bodies... The commander is camped in the tent in the top of the hill with Indra, who's wounded. I looked at all the bodies, bloodied and battered, each killed from bullet wounds.

"What have you done, Bellamy?" I whispered aloud, a horrified look on my face.

°°°

Oh, my. Things are not going well for Aiden and Bellamy... I hope Bellamy realizes what he did before he loses Aiden... God just writing the scenes between them hurts. We only got a little bit of Bellaiden, but now things are changing and their relationship is straining. I'm legit probably gonna cry if they break up.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I'll see you in the next one.

Buh-bye.
