"There is an underground aquifer with a filtration system that is still operational," Jaha explained. He, Kane, and Monty had gone to Polis and found the actual bunker. The one we had found before wasn't the real thing. "Some of the water will go to the hydroponic farm. Isn't that right, Mr. Green?"

I looked at Monty who was standing beside Bellamy to my right. "Most beautiful thing I've ever seen."

"It won't be easy," Jaha continued. "There will be plenty of hard work to go around. But together we have struggled. And together we will rise." Everyone around me cheered. "Pack your things. Just what you can carry. We leave at first light."

°°°

I stuffed a change of clothes into my bag. Six days until the radiation is here and we have yet to see this bunker. When I took the drawing of Bellamy off the wall, I studied it for a moment. I miss when everything was calm and quiet. I gently folded the paper and stuffed it into my back pocket. I grabbed everything else I needed before closing my bag. I slung my katana over my shoulder, Turning, I walked to the door taking one last look at the room before closing the door behind me as I walked into the hall.

°°°

I licked my lips as one of the guards tried opening the doors to the hangar bay. A bunch of kids, including Jasper, Riley, Harper, and Bree were inside, partying. Jaha, Monty, Bellamy, a few other guards, and me were watching. "Ahh. It's jammed. Same as the others. But this is the door to blow."

"How many gas canisters do we have?" Jaha asked.

I gave him a look of disbelief as I spoke. "You can't be serious."

"I'm Mount Weather, we beat the gas by using water," Monty explained. "Jasper will be ready for that."

"Just slow down. Let me talk to them." Bellamy said, stepping toward the com system beside the door.

"Bellamy, we have over 400 people ready to march," Jaha stated, his arms crossed over his chest.

I looked through the window on the door to see Jasper walking toward us, a gun in his hand. "Gun," one of the guards said.

"Harper's," Monty stated.

Jaha looked at Monty. "How many more of them are armed?"

"I don't know. A few."

I furrowed my eyebrows slightly when Jasper put his hand against the window, DNR written on it.

"DNR?" A guard asked.

Jaha spoke quietly, "Do not resuscitate."

"Jasper, put down the gun," Bellamy said through the com. "Open the door."

My eyes went to Harper as she walked up behind Jasper as he spoke. "We're not coming out."

"This is insane," Monty mumbled. I watched as he walked forward, pushing Bellamy aside. "Are you really willing to die, when there's a way to live? Are they?"

"That's just it. We don't think it's a way to live."

"Just go. Please," Harper begged.

To my right, Jaha shook his head. "We're wasting time. Set the charge." The guard beside him nodded and stepped forward, placing a charge on the doors. "You can go to guns. Do not fire unless fired upon. Is that clear--"

"No," Bellamy butted in. "Okay, just-- just wait," Bellamy spoke through the com. "Jasper, people will get hurt. I know you care about that."

"If you don't want anyone to get hurt, don't open the door."

With that, Harper and Jasper turned and walked away.

"We're all set. We should clear the hall," the guard said.

Jaha was silent as he walked toward the door, speaking through the com. "Mr. Jordan, I will not leave children here to die."

I shook my head, crossing my arms over my chest as Bellamy spoke. "You sent them down to die. The difference now is that they have a choice. And so do you."

"What are you talking about?" Monty asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

"This is what they want."

Monty shook his head as he spoke frantically. "They're wasted. They don't know what they want."

Everyone was silent, watching the kids in the hangar bay. After a few seconds, Jaha spoke. "Stand down." The guard from before took the charge off the doors. "Get ready to move out."

"What?" Monty stepped forward. "No, you can't."

I pursed my lips as the man spoke. "I'm sorry, son. Bellamy is right. We can't save them if they don't want to be saved."

I didn't say anything as I turned and followed Jaha down the hall.

°°°

"Remember, it's not black rain, but it could turn at any moment," Bellamy announced to everyone as they all headed toward the exit. "So keep the person with your assigned chem tent in sight at all times."

"No one but us saves ourselves," Jaha said. "We ourselves must walk the path."

I stayed behind with Bellamy until everyone was gone, my attention turned to Jasper and Harper who stood a few feet away. I turned toward them. "Not to late to change your mind."

"Yes, it is," Jasper said. "You can still stay, you know?"

"Not a quitter," Bellamy commented.

Jasper smiled, "thanks for understanding."

After a few seconds of silence, Harper spoke. "Where's Monty?"

Bellamy looked at the girl. "Unloading the rover. We're leaving it behind for you, by the way. He didn't say good-bye?"

She shook her head, her lips forming a straight line. "Take care of him for us, will you?" She said after a few seconds.

"You know we will," I said. I watched as Bellamy pulled her into a hug. I hugged Jasper, tightly, patting his back gently. When I pulled away, I gave him a soft smile.

"May we meet again," Bellamy said to Jasper.

The boy shook his head. "We won't."

"Whatever the hell you want."

My lips formed a straight line as I looked at Harper and pulled her into a tight hug, closing my eyes. I held back my tears at the thought of this being the last time I'll see them. When I pulled away, I inhaled sharply before exchanging a look with Bellamy. We turned and walked out of the ship into the rain.

°°°

"The entire city's the battlefield," Clarke explained to Bellamy and me. Roan had issued a conclave for the rights to the bunker; one person from every tribe would fight until only one was left. "No time limits. No guns; one warrior from each clan fights until only one remains."

"And the winner's clan takes the bunker," Bellamy added. "Just like that." Clarke nodded. "Without guns and without anyone trained in grounder combat, there's no way we can win."

"Hey, we fight or we die," Clarke said.

"And hey, we have me," I butted in. "Lincoln taught me a few things here and there."

Both Clarke and Bellamy's heads snapped toward me. "No way in hell," Clarke said.

I gave her a look. "I don't see you wielding a sword or anything. With Octavia gone, I'm the only one who had even the slightest knowledge of grounder tactics."

Bellamy opened his mouth to say something, but I didn't listen as I saw someone in a horse come into view; Octavia.
