I followed Bellamy, Pike, and Murphy into the throne room to see Clarke and any sitting on the floor. Bellamy raised his gun, but Clarke shook her head, shielding the woman.
"Hey, no. It's okay," the blonde girl reassured. "I used the EMP. She's back."
"Well, what about Ontari?" Murphy asked confused. "I thought you said we only had one shot with that thing."
Clarke stood, looking at the boy. "I told you. Ontari's no longer an option for the Flame. She's brain dead." The girl looked at Bellamy. "Is the floor secure?"
Bellamy gave her a single nod. "For now. Jaha bad the guards are tied up in a bedroom."
"We took out the elevator and the ladder as we climbed," Pike added. "The stairs are collapsed. No one's following us."
Clarke nodded. "Good. Then we have time."
"What we don't have is a way down."
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "Time for what?"
Clarke pursed her lips before speaking. "An Ascension Ceremony."
"Ascension?" Murphy asked, confused. "You just said Ontari wasn't an option. Besides, she's still chipped, and we no longer have an EMP."
Clarke shook her head. "We're not putting the Flame in Ontari's head... We're putting it in mine."
I immediately shook my head, stepping toward the girl. "Clarke, that thing killed Emerson in seconds, liquefied his brain."
"Emerson wasn't connected to a Nightblood."
"Transfusion?" Pike asked stepping forward.
Clarke shook her head. "Not exactly."
"Connected like Mount Weather," Abby spoke. We all looked at her and Clarke nodded.
"Yes. Everything we need is in your medkit."
I watched as Abby shook her head as she stood. "No, it's too dangerous; and there are too many variables."
"But no options."
I turned my attention to the doors when I heard panting. Octavia and the others walked into the room.
"Whatever you're doing, you better do it fast," Octavia said to Clarke.
"Why? What happened?" Bellamy asked.
The girl looked at him with a grim face. "They're climbing."
My eyes widened slightly as we all ran to the balcony, looking over the edge of the tower. Hundreds of people were running toward the base of the building, some with ladders. A few were already pretty far off the ground.
°°°
Clarke winced as the needle pierced her skin. I waited and watched as everything was being set up.
"Balcony's greased," Pike stated as he walked inside, setting a metal can of lamp oil on the floor. "No one's getting in through here."
Bellamy nodded. "Good. There's enough lamp oil to cover every window on the floor except the Commander's chambers."
Pike nodded. "Then that's where the fighting starts. We'll dig in there."
Bryan limped off after him. Octavia, pile, Indra, Miller, and Bryan had been attacked while Bellamy, Murphy, and me were in the elevator. Both pile and Bryan were shot, Bryan in the leg, and Pike in the side.
"O," Bellamy said as his sister began walking after Pike and Bryan. The girl stopped, looking at her brother. "Be careful."
She didn't say anything as she turned on her heel and walked out of the room.
